randomly while playing can be 5 mins to 3 hours i get a lock up. where the game zooms out to the point i can only see in the middle of the screen the little box ie planet roid fields objects in space.
the game is fully finctional chat works i can click on the objects in space and they expand so i can warp to dock whatever.
on looking at task manager eve is using from 150-400mbs of ram i dont know what to do as this makes it unsafe to go on any ops as i may crash in the middle of a fight

yep i have the exact same problem...it's starting to get annoying. my comp specs are totally different from lukkat so hardware shouldn't be the issue.
anyone have any ideas or fixes for this?

Edited by: Taleroth on 12/02/2006 23:22:55 I'M NOT ALONE! I have this exact same problem. I have the same processor and OS as Lukkat. I think I have the same motherboard too. Different graphics card. Radeon x700 In fact, I'm on my second Radeon x700 and it has done this with both of them.

i am having this same problem, only it happens quite often sometimes, like just now i restarted my computer after it happened and it did it straight away again as soon as i logged back in, this is getting really annoying and is going to cause me to cancel my sub.

Have you tried clearing your EVE Cache? __________________ "16bit Gaming Goodness!" |

Ok! I had this problem too! Its not Eve online!! Mine was so bad every 15 seconds I would lock up for about five seconds.
This is what I did.
Download, update scan.. and run inthe background. Free AVG Antivirus, it stops attacks and its an awesome anti virus.
Download, update, run.. and imunnize, scan you PC with "Spyware search and Destroy". Also Free!
Download FreeRamXP Pro, run it.. and leave it running n the tray like a speedometer.. this freed up 30%. Oh and its a free download.
CTRL ALT DELETE.. right click Eve.exe on change prioriety to HIGH.
Im not sure which actually fixed the problem.. but I had the problem BAD. If you do all of these you will probbably fix it.. and improve your PCs performance 100%.

It's not an actual lockup or performance issue.

What does this fully entail? Just delete everything from that directory or specific parts of it and the subs?

And cleaning out the cache did not fix this. It just happened.

POSSIBLE SOLUTION!
Change your TS Settings -> Options -> Sound Devices -> Sound Driver: Change from Direct Sound to Wave. Since doing this I have not had it happen, but have not had ample test time. If it works, please direct all thanks to Corlan Dashiva who you will see a few posts higher in the thread.
