So, how much of a 'risk-taker' are you when it comes to combat and trade?
Do you prefer relative safety and the easy money, or are you the kind that lives to throw your life on the line (daily) to earn your ISK?
In a fight, do you find yourself fighting in tight quarters and coming up from behind, or standing off and riddling them with ammunition/missiles from a distance?

No matter how much risk you take - dont risk what you cant afford to loose.
Its your defenition though what you think you can afford to loose.
As a noob I felt if I lost all it wouldnt realy matter since I didnt have much anyways. So I was constantly doing (well planned) trade runs through low sec space, with 90% of my total isk as cargo in my hauler. So i guess that would be high-risk. Was high reward too though. Eventually my hauler got blown (of course ), fortunatly just after i had the cargo delivered
Now I base the risk I take on my mood. But i always try to make sure that if all goes wrong I wont have the feeling of having lost more then I can afford.

I do really silly and stupid suicidal things. It generally gets me killed, but it gets me good fights too. Things include:
Engaging 2 Ravens in a HAC. Did this twice and i ended up killing one Raven then running both occasions.
Engaging 2 Dominix's and a Tempest in a HAC. Ended up killing the Tempest.
Engaging 2 Ravens AT a gate, a sniper Tempest 100k off and 6 of their buddies in local. Warped in ontop of Tempest, buddies warped in and i died. But not before i killed the Tempest. \o/
None of my HACs live longer then two days really.

i think thats the best fun you can have in pvp, trying to kill your primary outnumbered and outgunned uh.

Without a doubt, it's the best fun you can have.
Personally, numbers don't really matter to me. If I think I can get a kill and possibly live, I'll have a go. When you pvp in a group and outnumber your opponents, it can be fun. But the real fun is when you are horribly outnumbered, yet still give it a go!
Recently, I had my covert ops character watching a gate. I watched 7 people camping it, then 6 of them warping off to a safe (still in scan range of the gate) leaving only a sniping Eagle at the gate. I figured that I could setup my covert, warp close to the Eagle, pop him and get out before I really got in trouble. At least, that was the plan....
I did get on top of the Eagle and scrambled him, but his friends came in a lot quicker than I thought. I decided to stay and try for the kill, as they all started to pound on me. When the frigs came in and scrambled me, I had no choice anymore but to stay. I did kill the Eagle as his friends were really starting to hurt me. Here's his final moments.
I managed to pop the two frigs and escape on about 10% armour. My heart was pounding, my drones were left behind, but I had a fantastic time!!!
Too many "pvpers" focus on risk-free pvp. They don't know what they're missing

Edited by: Wrayeth on 03/02/2006 19:31:54 I've engaged enemies at two-to-one odds, before. Hell, I've even engaged at three-to-one odds. Sometimes I even win.
Recently, I engaged a BoB apoc at a gate in low sec after his buddy in the tempest warped off, just to see if my AC tempest could take him down (and withstand both his fire and the guns) before his buddy got back. Unfortunately, his buddy in the tempest warped back in right as the apoc went into structure, and that was all she wrote.
Not deterred in the least, I returned to station in my pod, snagged my raven, lured both the apoc and the tempest to a planet, and proceeded to to pawn the tempest pilot. The apoc warped off before I could reactivate my scrambler on him, but my corpmates arrived soon after and probed him out. -Wrayeth

This is a game, there is no risk.
There is only risk in the real world where you lose cash, you get sent to the hospital or killed.
Losing a few days or weeks of time that you spent on entertainment is at worst, not entertaining, and the majority of pvpers do enjoy that form of it, thus no risk.
