Ive read a few of the posts about jump clones. just one situwation. will this work?
if i get my standing with an npc corp to 8.0+ and leave my current corp. start my own corp of which im the only member. will I at that point be able to make a jump clone? Will my new corps standing instantly be at the same standing level as myself?
thanks

i think corp standing is based off of your standing before the skills come into affect...
So a 8.0 personal standing with skills, if used in a 1 man corp, may be a bit less...

If you get your standing to an NPC Corp to 8.0, you can leave your Current Corp and join one of the starter corps(The SCope, whatever). Once in this newbie NPC corp, you can then install a Jump Clone at any station where you have the 8.0 standing.
There is no need to make your own corp.

Your standings have to be 8.0 + without the help of skills. I tried it with skills getting my standings to 8.0 + but it did work.

Use that advanced math skill, subtraction. Each of the skills lists the value it adds. Subtract that from the standing for each level you have trained.

Or you can right-click your own ship/then click on your own portrait and look at standings. It should show something along this lines:
