Ok, now this is getting bad, the Dual 250mm Railgun out damages the 425mm Railgun. This certainly should not be the case, the 425mm needs a ROF decrease badly. ------

Edited by: soltys on 29/08/2003 20:33:46 Yep, small bug probably. Similary 220MM Vulcan AutoCannon I outdamages 425MM AutoCannon I (that has the same dot as 200mm autocannon). Also I believe, that worst close range medium projectile should be better than best close range small projectile (in hybrids and lasers they worst medium and best small close range models are equal in damage)... Also dot difference between close range hybrids and projectiles seems a little to big for me. ----------------------------------------------------------

I'm pretty sure this is caused by the truncating of ROF to the integer in the display for most guns.

Looks like you're right - not a single weapon with non integer rof... The return of the pretty old bug... ----------------------------------------------------------

Edited by: Lartfor on 29/08/2003 21:17:07 I thought the idea of balancing the weapons was to make it so not every one would use tachs... 4.5 dmg and 12 rof ummmm... can u say more unbalanced than it ever has been... Just look at that dot and compare it to other weapons...
Jim instead of decreasing the 425mm rof, just up its dmg, has same effect, and u wont be wasting ammo incredibly fast. I say a base of 3dmg on the normal 425mm rail and up to 3.65 on the guass with a rof of 10.
Well just my 2 cents

Maybe 1-3 shot kills :).
I cant wait till i get like a billion isk for that
EDIT- Acutally put AM in 425mm because you still get a maximum range of like 28km which is basically a normal distance for pirates. Unless you are prefer having real long range ammo.
EDIT2- You know something, I just imagined if both of these were tech lvl 5 weapons. *head explodes at calculating damage*

3 shot kills? I get 3 shot (as in volley - 3x7) kills on NPC cruisers, on battleships? No way. Sure, I'm using market equip, but that won't happen no matter how many 425's or modal megas you use.

The 425mm should out damage the dual 250mm atleast. Think about it, the 425mm uses over twice the powergrid! I want dual weapons to be a nice compromise between damage and powergrid usage, but it should not be a superior gun to the 425mm.. it edges it out in damage, that shouldn't really happen.
I would go for a ROF decrease on the 425mm railgun to 8seconds. Perhaps a slight damage increase, I think ROF is the problem though.
Tachyons use 125 cap per shot now man! That's a LOT. They're like 1200mm howitzers now. ------

I applaud all these changes, as well as that on the missile improvements.

Yep, does not make a ton of sence. I gues u can "justify" it by saying those duel 250mm and duel heavy beams have like 1/2 the range, but still i dont think they should domore dmg.
