hey just wondering how safe are safe spots and how can you find someone who is in a safe spot ( my undersanding is a safe spot is when you head for a location and bookmark half way there then warp back), what if i left a ship in my safe spot what would it take to get found by someone else?? any suggestions or help much appreciated

anyone can locate sasfespots by using probes some claim to do it in minuites so i advise you make at least 3 and warp beteen then continuously or cloak yourself when you get to the safespot -----------------------------------------------

A pirate may scan for you because they will want your stuff.
If in alliance territory and you are not on their blue list they will scan for you to maintain the integrity of their space.
Others may scan for you just to see what ship you are in and whether you will be a threat.

The closer your safespot is to the plane of the system the less safe it is to probing. That said a vertical 300au safespot would be nigh unprobable.

As long as there is nothing at the spot it is 100% safe but place even as much as a secure can with some ammo and its 0% safe.
Same goes for warping there to get away from PC's, if they have a probe launcher then they can track you down in a very short time, well within the logoff timer if they are good.
BAck in the day there were some glitches that would allow you to create safespots that would be safe(ish) even under the current system, they would be hundreds of thousands of lightyears outside of the system, I have been at many such spots and watching the map can be rather amusing as it will show you as being far faaar outside of the system you in reality are suposed to be in. Furthest out I ever wqas was 4 max warp jumps and change from the sun of the system, each jump was made with a BS so it was indeed a very long distance out.
I have heard it thise spots have now all been moved to within probe range and aparently the bugs that caused it has been fixed.
In short, dont trust safespots.

Actually theyre easier to find due to the lack of scanner 'noise' on targets that far out.
And you still can create them.
Of course people whine, its cause your sig sucks

safespots can be made very safe indeed, if you know what you are doing and are in the right places. And these safespots are often AUs above or below the primary plane, making them practically impossible to find.
Otherwise, just make them between warpables, and then between those safespots. If you leave just cargo containers there, they can't be discoverved (at least not without ridiculous amounts of blind luck). However, if there are ships there, people are likely to scan for them, and will find them.
On some systems, it is possible to make a safespot between 2 warp paths that cannot be seen on scanner from any warp path, but those systems are rare.
IMO, the safest thing to do is not to leave ships at a safespot, and if you are safespotting, move constantly between at least 2 in that system.
