I've been seeing a small pirate corp that opperates near me doing some things that make me wonder if there is a PS program out there somewhere allowing them to exploit the game much like there is for EverQuest and some other MMORPGs.
What I'm refering to is....
A ship is fighting NPC pirates and bites off more than it can chew and gets blown up. The person was sitting next to his cargo container waiting for a friend to come grab his leftover items...when all of the sudden...3 members of the same corps warp to the belt....scoup up the container and leave. It looked pretty fishy. It's not beyond the realm of possibility that a program could map out what PC's/NPC's/Items are floating around an entire system and their location.
Now...one could just chalk it up to "good luck" on their part..hey maybe they were just stumbled accross it by chance....THEN this happens...
Same corp, same players....
A battleship and an indy were sitting at a secluded moon minding their own business. Then all of the sudden 3 members of the same pirate corp warp right in on top of him(from their blockade at a warp gate), scramble him, boom. No scout ever warped in to ID him. It was as if they KNEW where he was from their spot at a gate.
Maybe it was coincidence. And I'm all for PvP AS LONG as we all play the same game bound by the same rules of play. If there is a sniffer program out there and these(or anyone else is using it)I truly hope CCP is aware of it and is taking action to eliminate it.

Using your scanner well will give you the capabilities you mention. ----------------------------- You think Marco Polo said "Damn Mongolians were camping that cave entry into the next valley the entire day, you can't get friggin anywhere in the world with those damn griefer tribes all over the place" ? -Indigo Seqi

Well if the pirates saw which direction the indy and b-ship warped and hid, then they could just guess or do a scan.

Edited by: Erty on 30/08/2003 02:41:57 As the client doesn't get the information about objects and stuff before it reaches it's warp destination (this is why it freezes after warps, especially so asteroid belts) a program like this wouldn't work.
They used the scanner, and they used it well :)
