My raven does the npc hunting fine on belts,but its just not very versatile against anything else found on typical lvl 4 missions.I can currently use a dominix without much problems,and I got all relevant drone skills to 5 except heavy drone operation.If I wanted an ishtar now,I would have to wait about 20 days and pay a silly ammount of isk for it,where I could get a insurable domi right now,and try to run lvl 4¦s.The fitting philisophy would be absolutely the same,nosfs,uber tank and let the drones do the rest...
Is ishtar really that worth it over the dom to run missions(would use it exclusively for that atm,cant afford go wasting HACS on pvp as of now),or the domi just cut it fine?

I find the ishtar a little slower at Level 4s than a Domi - although the 460m3 cargo bay is great for can collecting while the drones slap the npcs around.
I also find there are the odd missions that I can't cut it using the HAC, like Angels Extra. Anything Serp based though is a breeze due to the insane Kin/Therm resists.
tbh, Stick with the Domi, at 58 mil each a pop, you can lose 2.5 of them to every lost HAC.

meh...i use the ishtar for specific missions, but domi for the vast majority of them, if i'm running support for someone else i take the ishtar but i generally find the domi to be much more predictable for most combat

How many SP does it take to run level 4's ? I've just recently got my domi, but i do have ~5 mill SP. Relevant cap and such at 3/4, capped the old mech skills.

You'll probably die with so few SPs.
You need - excellent drone skills - Level 4 and 5 for most.
Excellent tanking skills, including being able to use T2 large repairers and T2 hardeners. If you choose shield tank, then that set of skills need to be high as well.
Cap skills need to be high or maxed, so basically your skills are probably way too low.
Before running them solo, I would tag along with an experienced friend as knowing how to tackle a mission beforehand can be a great help.
Try Serpentis missions first as they can tend to be a little easier on the newer player ;)

Shirer is so right - Dominix is purely Serpentis if you have low skillpoints - later it tanks all - actually any level 4 mission.

I take my Ishtar anyday over my domi on lv4 missons.
In my Ishtar I can forget the BS I meet and leave them until last.
Cruisers is the main threat, so I tend to kill them first (exept webbers and scrambler ceptors).
The duo of death I can do while feeding my son in my Ishtar, while in my Dominix I would have to put my whole attention to it.

Hello i am think of doing lvl 4's in my domi i have 8 mil skill points but all thats in is tanking and drones and larning what you think ? oh and i can tank all lvl 3's with 1 med techII rep
