I offer you a great opertunity!
A very good friend of mine has been trying to sell his Apocalypse blueprint original, but with no luck and asked me if I knew any buyers.
I however am intrigued by a post I read earlier where a person were trying to sell raffle tickets instead of the item itself and I suggested that this might be a good way to go.
The BPO is now in my possesion and will be placed on escrow in Oursulaert VI - Chemal Tech Research Center for the sum of 50billion so that everyone can check for themself that the blueprint is indeed in my care.

Short disclaimer: If the bpo for some reason get claimed (lol) every ticket sold will be returned X5

HOW can I know that this is no scam you ask?
Well, I've dealt out hundreds of millions worth of ships in prior lotteries:

Noone is in the habit of transfering isk to me without a cause, so if I see 5mill I know where it comes from..
As soon as I log the deposit I will send you a confirmation mail that your isk has been resieved, How much and how many tickets you have.
If you do not recieve a mail within a day or two, please contact me. EVERYONE will recieve this mail atleast 12 hours before the draw

Unfortunatly at this rate of sales it will take about 10 days to reach the 200 tickets that will allow the draw to take place, and I REALLY want to see this draw when its scheduled to be :D
So as a little incentive I'm gonna try a little referrence system:
Rules:
For every 5 ticket that is bought from someone referred by you, you will recieve 1 free ticket (the free tickets given out does not count towards the 200 mark)
The 5 tickets can be bought by the same person, or by up to 5 diffrent persons.

To my big surprice when I woke up just now, 71 Tickets has been sold! And 6first tickets given out by referring.
So now 97 tickets total are in the draw, 91 Count towards the total 200 needed, so I don't think it will be a problem reaching 200 afterall :D

Anything taking long isn't my concern, but I think it is equally if not more fair to use a random number generator.
Each ticket bought get an unique number, and using a random number generator EVERY number got an equal chance of being generated. No matter when it is bought or its position in the line or the size of the number.
I am however open for suggestion, but at the moment, A number generator is my choice.
And back to the tickets, I don't see any problem with getting 200 tickets sold, so the dates set in the initial post will be followed.

most random number generators are not truly random, so some tickets have a higher chance of getting selected then others. You can find better ones, that come really close to equal chance, but you will have to look for one.

Yes, thats true, and also the reason why I haven't decided on which one I'm gonna use yet. So if anyone know one that is good, feel free to let me know.
A totaly random number generator is as far as I know close to if not impossible to make, but I would still say that it is more fair than writing names on a piece of paper.

I've been thiking about it, as its very time consuming to do this, and I haven't had time to do anything else like my normal transportation business ;)

I'm really sorry Alvara, but the 200 was a minimum limit. I should probably have made it more clear in the original post, and I am sorry for any confusion :(
Edit: I removed the statement regarding the lower limit all together as it has most likely been met. (haven't been ingame for a few hours and won't get in until the morning)
The minimum limit of 200 tickets was there to ensure that the lottery wouldn't turn out selling maybe 50 tickets on an item worth 1.1billion on NPC price

As of now, 232 tickets are sold.
This means that if you have 1 ticket, you have 0.43% chance at turning 5 million into over 1.1billion :D
with max bought tickets (20) you have an 8.6% chance at turning your 100million into the apoc bpo :D

I can understand how it can be misunderstood, but it is very clear what the end date is. And it did not say anything about ending once 200 tickets were sold.

If you read the underlined area it is clearly stated that minimum 200 tickets would have to be sold in order for the draw to happend.
Afterall, this is a blueprint that cost exacly 1.125.000.000 NPC price. WITHOUT any research.
The research on this blueprint equals almost 1/3 of a year
I have no idea what research on battleship bpo's do to the value, but I would think that 1/3 of a year invested increase the value somewhat.
200 tickets at 5million = 1 billion, which mean that nomatter how you look at it, it would be a loss as well as ALOT of extra work just to loose a couple hundred millions.
For those of you that bought tickets thinking it would be 200 tickets in the draw, I can't express how sorry I am, as in all my business I try to be as clear as possible to avoid misunderstandings, though on the positive side, the sale of tickets has vent down to about 30 tickets again, so the big sale of tickets seemed to last only one day, and therefore won't decrease your winning chances much. Unless of course there are another big sale of tickets again, but I have been wrong twice about the ticket sales already in this lottery, so now I will not try to guess what the result might be.

The only problem with this whole setup are the following two scenarios:
Scenario A) Everyone buys a ticket, including an alt for Xinity. And, low and behold, Xinity's alt is the lucky winner!
Scenario B) Everyone buys a ticket, and just for some extra luck one of the buyers gives Xinity an extra $100M ISK to make sure he is the "randomly" chosen winner.
What these two scenarios have in common is that there is no independent, verifyable way to select a winner.

Unless a MOD gets involved. For example, Xinty lists ticket numbers in advance so we all know who has how many tickets, and a MOD or GM uses a random number generator and announces his results.
That means that the realiability is down to how honest the GM or MOD is.

Though I understand what you mean, I'm actually almost offended saying I can be bought for a mere 100million
If you had taken the time to actually check the link I've provided you could see that I've been in the possesion of way more than the amount of isk this lottery have brought in so far TOTAL, and never had one complaint.

Anyone that know me know that what I value the most is my reputation and loyalty and honesty more than any isk amount.

The only raffle I ever ôwonö was a Jose Conseco baseball card, so I think IÆll stay out future such ventures. IÆm merely posting as a reference to Xinitys honesty. She has done three runs for me, worth about 1.5 billion, with no collateral issued at all. I understand the need for paranoia in Eve, but its not needed here.

very convincing pick, the way i see it you can pick anyone you want from the list, because we have no proof you did otherwise you dont even say a exact time your gonna pick the winner or the numbers we each have .... last time im gonna participate in something like this

Well, I'm sorry but there isn't very much to the pick itself.
I just put in a 1 (lowest number) in one field and 344 (highest number) in another, then another 1 (how many number to be generated) and click a button called "generate"
Then I get up a ticket which in this case was 269 who belonged to Masta Killa. Who is a fellow I've never talked to, never met, never heard of.
I could give everyone their number, which I did in my old lotteries until someone complained about that saying it was to easy to manipulate since there are many that are very good with computers in both bad and good ways, so thats when I stopped doing that. I also held drawings real-time in a channel, but then I recieved complaints that I was being to slow, when I'm making sure I don't scream out the wrong name as I have to check the list I've written on a piece of paper, and also the transaction log in the wallet.
As for the draw being at a specific time, yeah I could have done that, but it would still happend the exact same way, a reply in the forum post and an updated original post.
And to be honest, I was really excited about giving away the bpo so I thought why not give it away once I'm done confirming the transaction logs and making sure my notes are correct?
I'm sorry that you are upset about the way the drawing took place, but this is (in my opinion) the safest way to do it.
As no1 knows their number, no1 can influence the lottery in any way.. and as for me picking the winner: I couldn't care less who got the bpo. The bpo wasn't mine, the isk isn't mine, I'm quite happy flying around in my freighter moving stuff around, I've been doing that for a year, so I don't want any of my alts to get a bpo.
However, I DO enjoy giving expencive things to new players as to them it matters the most, and giving a cruiser to a new player who never had one before makes him much happier than giving a bs to a person that has already had 10 before, but its not always like that, and the number I pick in my lotteries is the person who recieve the prize.

Well, I am dissapointed I didn't win as well.... but I don't think that xinity even has the need or urge to manipulate the lottery. Consider all the PR he got here and all those people in corps and alliances and then imagine what they would do to him when someone found out (with a proof) that he manipulated the drawing for his own good. He'd never be happy with his freighter again.
Judging the way Xinity behaved during the lottery and even now afterwards how he deals with complaints, I cannot imagine any manipulation from his sight, because he surely is aware of the consequences and wouldn't risk his well-going freighter business.

Here is how to avoid all accusations of fraud. I personally trust Xinty, but to answer others....
Post the list of tickets owners and number in an encrypted file after the sales have stopped.
Now, pick a set time to count how many users are on eve. (or any other future unpredictable event)
If everyone is happy with the number, then simply differentuate untill a winning ticket number is found.
Now give everyone the password to open up the encrypted file.
Gives accountability, and stops others from accusing you :)

And you are right, rigging this thing would surely get a couple alliances come down on me with something hard, but besides that;
I make millions on my reputation every week. and yeah, the publicity from this is great! how many saw this post? over 3000 people, and still growing :D
You can't get PR like that for any amount of isk! Why would I ever compromise that by fixing a lottery?
If you check my bio you will see that I've been in X-Trans for a year, and thats how long I've been building my reputation.
a year of work is worth alot more to me than anyone can afford paying to get me to rig a lottery :)
I personally did not make 1 isk from this, infact I paid 50million to the top refferer from my own wallet!

Yeah, that is doable, but breaking an encryption must be easier to do than tampering with a webpage's generator (which was suggested could be done if one had the skills, and the reason why I stopped telling people their ticket number in the first place)
But I'm as always open for suggestions :)

But the encryption method protects yourself from false acusations. Neverless, What I will do is encrypt the ticket number if I get this faction Ship BPC and Lottery that in the same method. Either way, the lottery idea you did is a good way to help eve's working class :)

first time for me in a lottery like this. as far as the complaints about honesty etc..i have no opinion on that since its impossible to check.
i do know that i did recieve the 50 mil. so even if it was rigged..well..you shouldnt have participated i guess.

I think there is a better and more convincing way to pick the winner then just posting his name, cant think of one now but im sure there is
