Hundred plus people regularly running missions for the level 3 and two level 4 Caldary Navy "kill" agents there.
This results in appalling lag to the extent that missions are unplayable (Which modules have I clicked on? Are they going to take effect? Should I click on them again? What am I going to do when my ship pops because of this? etc etc).
So I guess I am asking for either some more compute horsepower to be directed at Hageken or for the agents to be spread out across systems to reduce the system population....

Map - select "My Agents" filter - find a good one in a less busy system - move there - problem solved.

Edited by: Zafon on 06/02/2006 11:24:13 Problem not solved. Whilst you have one system with a good lvl 3 agent and two level 4 agents it is going to be attractive to many people for many reasons.
Simply moving to another system is not an answer - if for no other reason than that this particular set of attractive circumstances will no longer apply.

But people will always flock to the most attractive set of circumstances. Apparently there was some moving of agents in RMR (I didn't notice) and hopefully the hardware upgrades will help. But like someone mentioned somewhere, if you make room for more people in the big systems they will fill it up.
In the meantime you're stuck in mud and complaining about its viscosity instead of pulling yourself out. I don't mean any offense, but once you have level 4 agents you have agents all over the place...and they pay better in low sec don't they?

If you want to avoid lag. If LP > pain of lag, then no problem.

I said this when they moved the agents from Inoue to Hageken.
Why take the Best agents from Inoue, the ones that everyone uses, and move all of them to one system? If they would have moved the level 3 to Hageken and left the level 4's, it would have evened out the population. Now, Hageken is worse than Inoue ever was. Which colved moving the agents from Inoue how???

or, you could, "gasp", upgrade your computer, your ram, or even optimize said comp for the game.
quite funny listening to people cry bout not being able to move, while im doing lvl 4 extravs with friends. ya there is a little bit of lag at times, but not nearly as much as what you gonna get with a paltry 1 gig ram.
or even less.
-I don't necessarily agree with everything I say.-

Well, I am one of the lucky people in that I can upgrade my (not out of date) machine and am about to drop ú3500 on a new PC just to play Eve. Regardless of that when you have local filled with nothing but "omfg the lag is terrible" I suspect that the problem may not be limited to my machine alone.
As to why I want to be there, I can solo all level 3s in my sleep but cannot do level 4s solo. When we get two or three of our corp together level 4s become attainable. So I want to do level 3 missions until my corp mates come online and then gang with them to do level 4s.
And we all know moving a long way / having multiple large bases of operation is a serious pain.
I'm hoping the new cluster will help things a lot, in the meantime it would be good (assuming that the cluster guys acknowledge that there is a problem) to devote a little more of the existing cluster's horsepower to Hageken. I think they have things set up so that they can rebalance loading in this way....

As Eve continues to expand, I don't think we'll ever see major systems being lag free. As mentioned, if there's room for more it will be filled...

The lag has nothing to do with the PC the game is being played on, it's really network lag and/or the server itself. If the server can process and access data faster, we wouldn't get so much lag. I can't imagine how hard those harddrives are working trying to cumpute commands for 20000+ users at the same time.
Like what was said above, I hope this new cluster makes world of difference when it's installed. I was stuck in Jita for around 20 minutes and could not do anything.

I will NEVER understand why Caldari Navy Agents love to stay in same sys. Maybe they suffer loneliness, so they group together!
When i heard of some "agents moving" i thought that agents will be spread around Caldari State, but for some strange reason best lvl4 kill agents are in the same sys.
In Hageken u can take mission from 2 lvl4 and some lvl3 as well.
If lag is due to number of pilots in same sys, and CCP keep agents massed in Hageken, there should be a reason behind logic that noone knows!

Well, Hageken is still completely laggged out, and everybody is moaning about it. I'll move as soon as my agent ponies up a decent offer but please, if you guys at CCP have monitoring tools etc or can buff performance for this system, Hageken could do with a bit of care and attention.
It actually got better after all the RMR bugs were ironed out, but has degraded badly recently....

Maybe the solution is not to move the agents as such, but spread the mission locations around the adjacent systems to Lageken, spreading the load, rather than having 200+ people all running seperate versions of Angel Extra / Guristas Extra / Blockade / Infiltrated Outposts etc, etc in the same system.
This would release the load on Hageken, allowing 'normal' gameplay and push some of the load to emptier systems which currently do pretty much nothing. This may add to the length of times missions take to complete due to extra travel, but much better than the risk of losing ships due to lag. Also avoids pilots having to relocate.

Just took me 15 minutes to move from Hageken to Piekura. With instas.
CCP, guys, love ya, but this needs to be fixed.

If CCP moves some of the agents now, people will probably not enjoy having to move to the new location.

Edited by: Catjusha Moonshade on 29/04/2006 15:05:59 A part of this problem is player made. I just spent 2 minutes dodging around the 99 shuttles parked right outside a station in Torrinos and I'm sure Lageken can also show some prime examples for littering.
Concord should fine people for littering then proceed to blow up the crap they dropped.

I managed to do a lvl 4 blockade a few days ago in my ferox during peak times, it's not THAT bad.
It does suck pretty hard though, but they've already said it'll be getting some love.
