I am one of the few unfortunate souls who have lost all their note folders. Not the notes themselves. The left pane of note folders - the hierarchical organisation into which my 400+ notes used to be neatly organised. I have tried to petition this (id = 3414694) to get the matter resolved and have been extremely dissatisfied with the urgency or attempts by GMs to bring this matter to the attention of a developer to query the underlying database. After days of going back and forth with GM's I'm told to post the bug under features ideas and discussions. All I have been advised is to go look on sisi to see if the folders are there. How does this help get all the folders back! My guess is there is some sort of signed./unsigned byte overflow issue. So at the point you hit 128 or 256 folders the folder gets added to the database but resets folder count to 0. I wanted a developer to query the database, and if my assumption was correct, delete the last folder entry to get all the rest back again. Then at some point if this theory is correct, place a condition constraint check at the point byte overflow would occur. Iri'yana and Jack Vanderpool are amongst the other individuals to experience this. See: http://eve-search.com/thread/158747-1 http://forum.eveuniversity.org/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=66954 |

All I am getting as a response from the GMs in the petition (who told me to post here btw) is that I will have to rekey all the folders, replicate the hierarchy and assign all the notes again manually. I've said this is totally unacceptable and asked for a way to correspond with the CCP CEO and elevate the level of response. If my assumption is correct a one line SQL statement that would take seconds to type and run would save me 2 or 3 days worth of work. And all I've asked is for a dev to verify if my assumption is correct. If not then have an SQL script that copies the note foldersand the note/folder assocation back from SISI to production server as there may be a backup there. This is an Eve bug. Who is to say after 2 days of rekeying too that I don't just lose everything again. |

Thankyou CCP Eterne. Now I have filed this as a bug report too. So I hope to see some sign of feedback from one of the developers. |

Still waiting on some feedback on this one. If you were a normal software house and had written software that lost days of a persons work, you'd have a law suit on your hands CCP. Losing days of my work with no promise of whether retyping is going to create same issue is something I consider a major bug. Some sort of developer feedback is neeed ASAP. Will bump this every day until I get some sort of response. Don't like the way this matter is being ignored. Bad PR CCP!! |
