Would be nice if we could have a large block of SP and/or enable accelerated training (was like that in the past test servers, long time ago) so we can actually test things out. |

But seriously, masstest SP gains are fine the way they are. It's the only reason a lot of people participate in mass tests and removing the incentive in favour of free SP for no effort is counter productive. |

You haven't a clue. They copy your toons over occasionally. Why are you so freaked out someone might have more SP than you on a test server? OMG, you'd get powned, poor baby.

No you're the clueless one. The SP allocation that comes from masstests is there to promote masstesting and to provide incentive for masstesting. Also as usual access to the test server is a privilege and no support is provided/guaranteed. If you are unhappy go back to Tranquility. If you want nice things on the test server then participate in the masstest next week.
SP allocation/gifts work perfectly fine as it is at the current moment and have no reason to be altered to give "newbs" free SP boosts, accelerated training, or etc. A noob can still "test" many things out and there is no reason the vast amount of other players can't test things a "newb" cant. There are plenty of other fish in the sea that can still test out Marauders, Recon Ships, Titans, and other SP intensive material. Simply put, everything is fine as is. No reason to change it. EVERY CCP post regarding free skills or sp or accelerated anything has usually been met with the same stance that SP gifts are reserved for masstests in order to provide incentive. It's a valid point that isn't likely to change Ever. |

Oh, yea, it's a gift to accelerate training on the 'test' server. OMG, I would be so grateful for that game changing 'gift'.
And CCP always consults you for the decisions they make. |

You really need to search the forums for the words "Free SP" and read all of CCP's replies. CCP Golaith has stated himself time and time again that SP isn't going to get changed as it's the incentive. Considering he's the Head of QA, I'd take it as scripture.
Here:
CCP Goliath wrote:If the team that owns the changes wants this to happen we will try and work something out. I'm, as I have said before, very anti giving out excess sp on the test server as it is one of the only ways we have to incentivize mass tests right now. If it were to happen, it would be more likely we give them the skills they need directly rather than blanket skill points.
They don't like giving out SP outside of tests. Simple as that. They did give bastion skills, then wiped them away w/ database changes. If you and five hundred thousand of your closest friends can bring to light a reason and motive for them to do it, they might consider it. Otherwise, go browse the forums before you continue to post useless nonsense backed by nothing but greed and self-entitlement. |

Oh yea, greed and entitlement on a test server. You know how narcissistic that is?
You do know your character gets overwritten when they copy? Well, since you wrote this, I guess not.
What are you scared of? All I see is a bunch of frightened children going omg, don't give him sp, he might own me on the 'test' server.
They had accelerated SP enabled on the test servers in 05, which was last time I got on one. Guess they lost all their good devs.
I saw they shut down the bastion script, and thought, why would they waste a bunch of time setting it up in the first place when they could just enable faster training.
But then, my life doesn't revolve around SP in a video game. |

I donGÇÖt care about SP or who has extra SP on the test server, if I cannot fly it now on TQ I donGÇÖt care about it so giving me free SP to try out something I will never fly for real is pointless. but just giving every one 100mill free SP for testing is pointless. Yes they can now fly the ships on the test server but no real comparison testing can be done if the people have never/cannot fly these ships before. All they can do is comment on how much better things are compared to their low SP stuff they would normally fly. Other than bug reporting (which I can predict less than 10% will ever do on the test server) all its there for is to go wow this fully maxed out max SP max implants XXXX ship is overpowered compared to the T1 cruiser I fly on TQ.
Pointless. Just like your hard-core(read noob) whine trolling about ganking on TQ on the test server feedback forums. i.e. go away. |

Wooo, why so much hate.
The guy is asking to be given SP to be able to test new feature quickly rather than having to train a few weeks before being able to do so. Does not seem unreasonable, and if the purpose of the test server is feedback on new features it is probably a good thing as people interested in testing and helping out ccp would be able to do so regardless of their TQ skills.
I hear the opinion about ships being overpowered and/or flying ships you have no previous experience with, however in case of new modules it would make sense to be able to use them straight out, without having to train for them (as they did with bastion module as I understand). |

Ahh, you're scared. Yea, I'm going to go to the test server to gather useless KM's only to have my toon overwritten in a month or 2. Although I see a lot of you do.
You all just confirm my theory in that all the stupid in the gaming world congregates here. You 'think' somehow playing this game makes you feel smart. Sorry, it's not working. Stupid is stupid, you can't change it. |

Exactly. In Nov/Dec 2005 they just had accelerated training. That was the last time I was on the test server. |
