Edited by: Jabba Da**** on 06/02/2006 17:57:53 anyone else have problems with the same people farming the same complex's over and over.. ive seen people who have the timing perfect.. they know exactly when the complex strucutres and bosses respawn.. and steamroll through, preventing other players from ever learning how the damn complex works.. if that wasnt the worst part.. their then turning around and practically printing isk.. with the sales of the faction loot.. thereby putting em in a stronger PVP position, than anyone who cares to try ouste em..
i vote for a lockout timer on those larger complexs ;P or how about instances for gangs?

No, no instances....ever
Lockout timer tho for those who ahve finished the entire complex i can go for tho. Say a couple of days to a week. Someone though will find a way around it im sure, but it will make it more difficult.
However with a lockout timer, i would suggest eliminating the warping tot he gates and put back warping to your friends so people have the option if they warp out. "Imagination is the key that unlocks the door." - ME |

Low sec plexes tend to lock like others don't they? If so, gonna be a ***** to gank them if you dont see them early on.

now if ur complaining that the complexes being run more efficently then yourself and you cant get the loot drops then /me hands cheese out to you for this whine
edit: the timer is mostly random, and those camping a plex 23/7 are a bit stupid since they would DEFINITLY make more mining.
edit2: or make the complexs much much harder. 1/10 frigs with a destroyer at the end? 2/10 frigs/crusiers with tough crusier at the end? 3/10 cruiser spawns? with a hard tank BS at the end 4/10 hard crusiers. some bs. a super tank BS at the end requiring maybe 2 hac to kill him off? -------------------Sig-----------------------

i really think it is silly how complex work. and missions, too, but that is another topic.
i mean, if you complete a complex, it shouldn just respawn. that is stupid, illogical, not realistic. the rats have been defeated, they should need some time to regroup and gather resources, and then they would get to another complex, but not at the same place!!!! how stupid on the rats part!!! they go back to the same place!!!! they should respawn somewhere else, in fact, it should be on a nearby system, so that farmers can not just wait until the beacon appears and then warp to it.
it would solve farming problems, it would be more realistic, and it would give more players the chance to complete the complex.

I think they should put agents outside the complex's so that you would need to get a mission charter in order to enter, then only allow a player to get one mission charter per day per complex. It would limit the entry of a pilot to once a day and force them onto the next complex. I think it also should be prevented from respawning until all pilots exit. The agent should only issue a charter once the complex has respawed.
So how do you stop players from following in behind and hijacking your charter? Have the gates lockout anyone not in the player's gang that owns the charter.

The timer is indeed not entirely random.
The 3/10 serps stronghold spawns every 8 hours or so. So, if you know what time the first one spawns (after dt) count 8 hours ahead and you have a very good chance to get one within 10 minutes.
Keep in mind that farmers know this and plan their schedule accordingly. They do not camp them 23/7, they simply warp in at the right time, often passing some poor guy fighting a boss (they have multiple keys). They make there way as quickly as possible to the last lvl and pop the stronghold. Then it's off to the next system to do it all over again.
If timed properly you can hit 4-5 strongholds everytime like clockwork.
What they should do is that once you are in a complex it is locked from anyone getting in other than gangmates. You have a certain amount of time to finish it and you can only enter any specific complex once a week. They should also make the stronghold truly random, might spawn once a day, maybe 12 times a day. Point is you'd never know when it's coming.
Add better overseer effects to the bosses to make them a bit more profitable and tone down the faction loot which is the main reason people farm them.
You could also change the ship requirements so that HAC/AF would only be allowed in one lvl up from their t1 equivalent. AF only in 3/10 and above, HAC only in 4/10 and above, etc.
Or as some have suggested, have a "key" drop as loot in missions or rat hunting. The "key" would send you to a system and allow you a one-shot run through a complex that no one else has access to. Once you leave it, it's gone so make sure you bring enough ammo or friends. That would be fun.
