Do nanofiber plates have less of an impact on agility than the other plates? Specifically with regards to fitting oversized 1600mm plates on cruisers?

no actually right now they have a bigger impact as the nanofibres add more mass than the others, that used to be ok when there also was the velocity modifier which was much smaller on the nanofibre (5% instead of 10%) but now, well nanofibre aren't very usefull ------------------------------------------ The ammatar are not the enemy, they are the smoke and mirrors of the amarr. |

Thats surely some non-intenional borking ? I would assume that nanofiber is meant to bed less of an encumberance

Nanofibre is purely part of the title, and mean's little as to it's performance. Take for example "Scout" guns... a scout howitzer is higher up the named list for howitzers, than a scout railgun is for railguns :) names mean little, stats = everything Galactica - The search goes on... |

That dosn't make any sense that effect agility. There's no mass listing for armor plating of any kind, just volume. Check the Item Database if you don't believe me.
I played a good long while in a Thorax with an 800mm Nanofiber Plate (until it was lagkilled :( ) and didn't notice any change in my speed or any particular change in my acceleration or turning.

Thing is that nano-fibre plates ALWAYS gave less of an impact on speed, so i don't see why they should suddenly stop.

There is a hidden mass addition parameter which is not displayed when you examine the plate or look in item database. However when looking in the database people have found there is a mass factor. For example 1600 mm Tungsten adds 2,750,000 mass while nanofiber adds 3,500,000. Tungsten has same stats as Tech II but require less CPU and power which makes it the clear winner.

Yes...the nanoplate is less good now. I tried the nanoplate on my thorax and then a crystalline armourplate (1600mm) and the ship went slower with the nano which is quite strange in my eyes. Now a days there are no meaning at all to have a nanoplate.

Nanofiber is just another member of the meta-chain now. Rolled Tungsten adds least weight, while the others go somewhere between Tungsten and ordinary Reinforced Steel. It was changed when they moved plates from -10% velocity to adding weight (in an attempt to promote proper sized plates... which failed slightly...)

Go to settings (on the left) Select chalaim from the drop-down menu Underneath the text box there's a few options with "Settings:" left of them. Click "Default character" hit-box.
Alternatively, and less permanently: Beneath the "Reply to Topic" text box and above the Topic view, there's a drop-down menu where you can select which character on your logged-in account is going to "do the talking".

The metachain used to have some nice stats on som,e of the lesser versions. For instance the first named gun (when looking at damage multyplier) uses as little cpu as the best one
Personally I even liked this In certain circumstances one would field a specific named weapon rather than just the best you can find.
I would have loved it had they devided the meta chain like this attrib \ quality by rank -> primary 1 2 3 4 second 4 1 2 3 third 1 4 2 3 fourth 1 2 4 3
so on for instance a launcher, the arbalest would have best rof, the malkuth least cpu, and the zw would have largest capacety. As opposed to the situation now and I have no idear what attribute to give to the limos launcher though
on guns the primary is damage, rof and optimal, secondairy is cpu, cap using guns get a reduction on cap use as well (named projectile guns also use no cap, where the t1 and t2 version do use cap)(never looked at what gun uses least though).
On plates nanofibers used to have least impact on speed, but also gave little more armor than t1 plates. Removing this destinction is i my opinion a bad and sad thing. Named modules could easely excell at something while overall the highest quality named module gives the best overall performance.
