I've often found it terribly cumbersome to loot many wrecks and then when dumping said loot I need to carefully go through the items to select what to move out and what to keep in terms of ammunition/scripts and other items I use for ship functionality persistently; The sorting process becomes quite tedious after you've done it literally countless times.
What I'd like: Any items you want to keep persistently in the ship you would move into the "Cargo section" manually, essentially as it is now.
All loot/salvage etc. is automatically deposited into a virtual compartment named "Loot section", merely separated from the persistent items.
Both sections share the same space of the Cargo Bay.
I feel the suggestion is quite minor yet would be a massive QoL improvement for most pilots. |

Or even just the ability to "lock" an item into the cargo hold so that it cannot be dragged out into an item hangar or corporate hangar array, but can still be loaded into modules or weapon turrets. So, you're a bounty hunter. No, that ain't it at all. Then what are you? I'm a bounty hunter. |

+1 for this. And/or even go so far as to give every ship a dedicated ammo bay (ala Hoarder) for holding all that stuff you want to keep (since 99% of the time it's your ammo/charges/scripts you are trying to keep). Loot always goes into the regular cargo bay (ammo or not) but you could manually move the stuff you want to keep into the ammo bay. Also creates some interesting options for further tweaking ship balance/specialization around generic cargo capacity vs ammo capacity. |

It's not just ammo but modules as well that you move with the ship, especially with the mobile refitting service & other dropables that you don't want to remove when dumping loot. So the separate section but same space is a no brainer QoL suggestion. |

just a heads up: in a way, this functionality is already in the game. you can buy a small secure container, which is 100m-¦ and holds 120m-¦. put your ammo/modules in the container. loot will go outside of the container. its not ideal, but its doable. |

It really doesn't do what we're asking as with a container your ship is crippled when you try to reload etc... not to mention the rigidity of containers limiting how much you can store in the cargo container or cargo bay even if either one is virtually empty.

Highlighting the critically important part, this has now become desperately urgent request rather than an important QoL change.

How about CCP works a bit on the UI again? and makes me able to tag every single items i want instead? or so i can just sort into Meta 4 - 9 000 stuff?... example, anything under that is not worth keeping...... then i can sort into that, and it becomes WWWAYYYY less long... |

to all in this thread: that functionality already exists L2create and use filters. Opinions are like assholes. Everybody's got one and everyone thinks everyone else's stinks. |

Currently what you can create with filters is more of a doable workaround than a final solution.
Whilst that being true, on the other hand notably the one thing which made me reconsider filtering as useful was the 'assembled' flag, which thanks to you I now realize exists and have proven that you are indeed correct in your statement that there already exists this functionality to a degree; There is much practical use of this in certain areas, less in others; I had largely discarded filters previously.
I will argue the extent of the usefulness, as I first stated, it isn't a final solution.
The filter method still falls short on the following: Duplicates/numerous numbers of the same item being looted/stored will not be filtered separately, this means accumulation of charges/scripts/drones etc most of all.
You will see charges of different sizes unless you directly by name define each and every single one of which you want to keep/exclude.
Looting any kinds of assembled modules will clutter up your inventory and you have to filter it manually defeating the purposeful use of the 'assembled' flag in this exercise entirely.
For a new type of item you decide to keep persistently you will need to edit both filters again, sometimes even by name directly.
Potentially for items you decide to no longer keep you will need to edit both filters again.
Essentially every ship requires 2 of its own separate filters, one inclusive for persistent items and one exclusive for loot, this escalates quickly with many ships.
Most of the issues are quite minor for my particular reality compared to the practicality you can get for some areas of activity, although not perfect it is most certainly a functional method for the moment even when given the extensive need to detail numerous entries, it is infinitely preferable over regular manual filtering every time you move items around.
Without the 'assembled' flag I think my conclusion would have been different in terms of practicality and still it is a flimsy flag to hold on to for this kind of inventory mechanics.
These are the results I found for now, if I missed something please enlighten me, as it would be nice if filters could actually do more of what is desired.

So what you're saying is... we should partition our cargo bays. I'm throwing ISK at my televisor but it's not making it happen! Consider it +1'd. |
