Which genious thought about running the server on Galactic Medean Time (or something like that) use GMT as abbr. and then have it at GMT -1  Kinda dumb to me....
(sorry I'm kinda P-O-ed at the moment since I'm stuck with 2 characters)

It is GMT. If you live in the UK you'll find that you are currently not on GMT at the moment, you are on BST (British Summer Time). Hence the different between your local time and game time.

I'm not in the UK, I'm in the Netherlands, which is GMT + 1 but not in EVE.... there it's GMT + 2

No it's not... I'm currently at GMT+2 (summer time) and the servers go down at 13.00 and up at 14.00 (1pm/2pm for some of you ;)).

It's Summer time in all (most) of Europe, so you're basically on GMT +2 at this time of year.

so what's your point? You're at GMT +2 normally or GMT +2 in EVE?

that was my point PUTZ... :P for the past month I've been playing EVE there has been a 2 hr time difference between the GMT ingame and my time.... I'm on Greenwich Main Time +1 though... I'm aware England switches to summertime and wintertime on differents dates then we but I don't recollect there being a month with 2 hr time difference....

GMT doesn't change.
So in the winter netherlands is GMT +1, and in the summer GMT 2+.
In the summer it's BST (british summer time) in britain, that's GMT +1.
So it's nothing wrong with it :)

A better question would be to ask what genius (note spelling) does not know what time zone they are in (look in the mirror...).

As I tried to explain in my previous post:
All of Europe, including UK is using Summertime from March to September. So UK is on BST (GMT+1) and mainland Europe is on GMT+2 (BST+1) keeping the 1hr difference between the two.
But GMT is still GMT even during the Summer.
