... Give me a reason to stay in this game.
Character's stuck (again). Can't unstick due to GM not having the power to do so. (err... wtf?)
Constant ctds (yes, I know, you've heard that one a 1000 times already), silly combat mechanics (set the right bookmarks and there's no catching you!), ridiculously bugged market system, unable to open drone space in dock (brings up my cargo!), exploiters prosper whilst the people who actually want to 'get on' get destroyed by the exploiters. :breathes:
The list is endless and the list I give is only scratching the surface of the flaws in this game. It's got the potential to be the best online experience ever, but ends up just being infuriating with bugs/exploits.
I await the usual flame-posts to this, but I've got to 'let off steam' somewhere... My main character being stuck just sucks beyond belief - and seeing the news that the GMs have such a screwed up game to work with that they can't even unstick me is just too much...
Oh well, flame on.

The first half of that sentence should convince you to be a little more patient....Eve WILL fulfil that potential, I believe, so I'll stick with it through thick and thin.

well seem slike the flames will have to wait..
Personally im just passing some time bumping topics and replying to every single topic that gets posted atm. (i refresh till a new one comes up)...call it my contribution to the serverload since i am like you unable to log on.
The number of post wich have a 'dissatisfied' image are increasing very rapidly as more and more people are blackholed with noone to set them free....
Just today i saw someone in our corpchat scream 'FREEDOOOOOOOOOM'. I suppose he felt somewhat releaved from being 'unstuck'.
so seems like we now have an 'EVE the sticky genesis' on our hands.
anyways...about your post..
reasons to play EVE:
- your bored? - you have loads of time - your very bored? - your waiting for content to arrive - your an inexcusible fanboy - you have a craving for isk - you like mining =/ - i dunno
Personally im waiting for content...also there is one more reason..wich might be a little weird.
Recently i have begone to consider EVE as a massive online chatclient wich is furthermore fully interactive whenever working. As an added bonus this chatclient provides loads of scifi eyecandy as your traveling though dousans if not thousands of solar systems.
Its rather fun. The audiance coming to the chatroom is usually the same audiance wich gives you a chance to get to know eachother a little better then you would on shallow yahoo chatssites..
Also there is always topics to discuss.
More popular ones are:
- how high your latest critical was - howmuch you hate the devs - general dev flaming - gm flaming - general complaining about the game - general and deep hatred baring chat about the bugs - howmuch your new ship rules - how bad you feel for losing your ship - howmany more milions of a type of ore you need for your battleship - howmuch ore per minute you get - who the next person your gonna pod is - who the person you just podded is - who youd like to pod but cant till your 'uber' - how you will treat mr X corpse when you aquire it - how amazing you gfx glitch you are having is
ect ect ect
you see, plenty of feed to talk about stuff. Its a ride. You just have to let it carry you :D
Originally by: cashman It's time for Eris to get a clue. CCP should make a statement about this.
It's the exact same things as what Zombie did, you may not attack in "safe-areas" (empire/within sentry range) without loosing your ship.

Ulendar, you just made my evening. Really good laugh and oh so true. Keep up the sarcasm dude. Seriously, I am very annoyed with the current bugs/ctds/scams/exploits and sometimes, although knowing the devs are on it, I think the whole playerbase is somewhat left alone by em (considering reimbursement of ship losses due to bugs etc..). But still I will stick around like Josh said, cause I feel and know it can only get better. Our corp has found a great community of guys in CFS and IŠve made lotsa new buds over the past weeks, so that is actually what keeps me going. Protecting Khanid as well as going towards battleship is very exciting ... besides the tons of things that need to be addressed, I still like the game. ____________________________________

The bugs and server down time I can cope with. In time they'll be eliminated. What did nearly make me quit earlier in the week, was the lack of response from CCP with regards to addressing the problems with combat.
Thankfully its been stated that instajumps are going, a warp tracking module will be implemented and potentially we could have the ability to lock while warp is engaging.
If all these come true, combat will once more occur. It may need a few more tweaks here and there with a pinch of new modules. But those were the main gripes I had with eve.
Stay or go its up to you. I've decided I'm giving CCP till december to implement the main elements I want in this game. Those are:
1) A good combat system (see above points) 2) The story in full swing
I'll be re-assessing whether I'll continue with eve at that point, but for now I'm going to try my best to see all the problems through and hope we reach the potential this game has.

The CTDs don't affect everyone. Just had my first one today - and been playing over 3 months, average of 8 - 10 hours a week.
The game shouldn't be the biggest thing in people's lives - or else there is a serious addiction problem.

To start with i aint goin no where. I'll still be playing eve till the servers are switched off. However, my main concern is do CCp actually have enough cash to keep it going? Why arent they advertising the game? Why is no one playing it? Possibly most important of all why arent CCp giving its customers any feedback. But having said all that i live in hope that thigns can only get better. I personally dont suffer from the ct'd etc altho i got stuck for a the first time in ages today and havent as yet been freed. Anyway i live in hope that tey manage to keep it alive.
