Wow poor guy. it would freak me out if someone got my email or even worse phone number and started to threaten me.
like she/he said its a game who ever it was who harassed this person needs to get a grip.

As someone said in the comments to your post on EvE-Pirate, call the cops. Teach the caller to get a life and do something other than EvE.
Even tho I'm one of those that find piracy bloody annoying, its a part of EvE. Hope you return soon.

This is the single most childish move I have ever seen in the EVE community. It's bad enough that people trashtalk anyone with an different point of view, but at least it is done in a semi respectible manner on the forums, where it can also be delt with if it goes to far.
What this guy did was/is illegal in the US, Canada, and I believe in most countries in Europe. Making threats over the phone is no different then making one to your face. The worst part about it is that this individual did it over the phone without saying who he/she is because they are spineless. I would love to find this guy in the real world and show him what it means to be a grown ass man....because contrary to popular belief not everyone who plays eve is some snot noised, glasses wearing computer geek. Alot of us are lawyers, military (ME), doctors, cops, teachers ect. We play this game to get away from real life for a bit and have some fun with good people.
I can say one thing....this guy is the perfect example of natural selection failing.

Some people might not be suitable to play games like this, obviously it causes too much anger. Imagine if this would happend in the real world... right it already did.
Either way, imo Malka should stand on him/her-self and not quit, that proves the "bad" guys won. But I understand the reasoning behind it, I been in the same situation several times (not due to a game tho).

If something like that would ever happen to me:
1)Call 999/or 911 when I am in USA
2)Contat Phone Company & Obtain Records
3)File a harasment complaint, followed with a nice Permanent Restraining Order
4)Return to Game. Inform CCP with the Name & Address of an individual (Obtained through Coourts/Phone Company. Proved them with copies of the legal documents.
5)Have the individual perma-banned.

I'm not the most liked character out there as an ore thief. It's wrong what happened, but unfortunately you really have to be careful when you decide to extend eve outside these forums or the game.
Posting on non official forums etc should be considered carefully and alas, hosting a web page as in your case.
The zealots who can't decide between rpg and real life are out there and I know IÆve got fellow aussie players that would love to 'hunt me down in rl' because of my 'un-Australian' ore theft activities. They are patient, so be paranoid.
Be thankful you don't play WoW, its gets worse from some of the stories IÆve heard of from players down under.

Why is it considered acceptable joking about raping people these days? Thats even more disgusting than this stalking lunacy, truth be told. If i follow your example of escalation, i would be joking how one would torture and slowly kill people for suggesting *****as a punishment, even in jest.
No matter how it disgusts you, just calling someone over the phone and threatening him is a minor offense compared to what else is out there... Unpleasant, but minor. It destroys pvp games like eve if it gets too common. Still no reason to act though - since the "bad guys" can beat you at being bad and cruel any day.

that the pirate in this instance was does things worse than phoning up and threatening someone due to ingame actions? and that he is worse than that because he is a bad person ingame?

I would understand if people would make those "ugly fat man in US prison" jokes about major bloodthirsty dictators who tortured and killed millions - it still would be wrong though - , but for threatening someone over the phone, its more then overkill ... that is what i am trying to say.
Can we please discuss this rather alarming incident without creating more disgusting incidents?
