I'm sorry for another thread about this.
I'm also sorry to say I am losing trust in CCPs ability to deliver what they promised.
This game is turning into "Don't do anything even remotely dangerous because the server may go *SPLAT* any second without prior notice".
What do I do if I can no longer trust the server to stay up while hunting cruiser pirates, in a pvp battle, or anything else where you risk losing your ship and life. Some of our members aren't even logging on anymore because of all this mess.
So, what happened? DB back end being messed up by employees? DDoS attacks? Virus? "technical" problems? Broken petition system? Messed up router? Cosmic rays? In a ONE WEEK timeframe? 
Safe to say I am very displeased with the quality of service provided. I like this game a lot, but you're doing an awfully good job trying to change my mind 
All that remains is hope now.
And before you vultures start circling me, I won't be leaving EVE. I have yet to lose a ship due to these problems, but I know plenty who have. I'm just getting increasingly annoyed by the inability to rely on CCP to keep the universe alive.
Get your act together guys... please?

and the REALLY fun part is.. when "server go BOOM" there is a strict "NO Reimbursment" policy from CCP. So you lose your stuff due to a server fart and you are *FUBAR* the ship that you worked so hard to get is gonzo. I wouldn't even mind that so much if Insurance was realistic.. kept tabs on your installed Mods and gave you back what you lost depending on your coverage. *sigh*.. I'm going to miss this game, mostly due to the gr8 people I've met.. (even the lowlife Pirates who made life a terror in the hinterlands)...

No but dont you understand. This is life, stuff like this happens. Get used to it, get over it.
CCP are wonderful. None of the bugs in eve have been their fault and they let us know what is going on all the time.

I want this game to succeed as well but its getting to the point of more stress than real life rather than a "get away" from it.
IMHO, they need to throw the whole no compensation policy out the window until stability is secured. Give us back what we lost due to this MESS that has gone on for 2 weeks now. If CCP is worried about players taking advantage...ask for screen shots of character bank accts. There are logs of player to player transactions(ie u bought a BB from someone), there is also a message from Concord when it gets blown up - these 2 items should be enough to get a ship back in your possession due to CTD/BH and lack of game integrity. As far as loss of drones, minerals and trades...thats more tough. Maybe look BP usage by the character/corp or just take an average of what is mined across the server and compensate EVERYONE in either isk or minerals.
Look, everyone talks about things like this happening in real life and "get used to it." Well, in real life when a natural disaster strikes guess what happens, the govt releases money/loans to areas effected AND actively helps to get people back on their feet. Show you care CCP, give all your cyber citizens some cyber compensation its much less than if more and more quit.
SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE BY CCP.

You know, Sony can be a ***** with reimbursement in Everquest, but they make damn sure that if something happens because of THEIR fault, that all players get their proper reimbursement.
Yes CCP, they actually CAN trace back what happened in a players log. Now YOU try it too!

They are using a database..... unelss it was designed by a total moron it would be capable of mantaining a history... However, it woudl require work to go and find out what happened.....

Yeah the last weeks has been very, very bad.
When you think that at last the server will work again something else happens :(
But now that everything has gone wrong at least once things should work better...or maybe not.
*still trying to be positive* =)
But I can't understand why people are whining and flaming so damn much.
I'm sad too, and I want the servers to work better.
But atleast I try to understand them...
It's not like it's their fault that some switch stops working. Even though they offcourse should have a new one for replacement within an hour.
Anyway I think that they will learn with their mistakes, probably this will be over soon =)

Alexia I don't actually see too many flames. I see people expressing their dissatisfaction with the customer-facing side of the game. I see lots of people trying to do this as constructively as possible and getting more and more annoyed as they just get ignored.

There was a known problem of people getting stuck well before it got out of hand - no communication on part of CCP.
Through out the crisis no one knew what was going on (including GMs) - Why? Lack of communication.
Servers went down twice - no communication... get the point?
When things go terribly wrong, people turn on the news or contact someone for information so that it is easier to DEAL emotionally with what is going on. Who of all of us really know what is going on with EvE.....CCP, so who has an obligation to get the word out?

Yes a lot of people got stuck today and if this was the first time it happened and it was due to a hardware failure, I think everyone could understand that. However, getting stuck happens everyday to someone or other. I was getting stuck in beta. I've been getting stuck through four months of retail. I'm sick of hearing delete your cache. If there is a problem with the cache they should fix it already. The fact that the petition screen has a seperate category for getting stuck tells you that it is a persistent problem. Will they ever fix this problem or is it unfixable? If it is unfixable and inherent in the code somehow that folks will get stuck as often as they do, the game has no future that I can see.

CCP can always start setting up contracts for each account. This would guarentee you server stability and immediate customer service. But you will have to raise the monthly fee to $100-$150 a month. Big name ISPs do the same thing, I know one ISP that lost 12 million dollars just because their systems crashed for 6 hours. :)

Hey, I was stuck for 8 hours or so, so I can understand the frustration, but come on, I don't think CCP are going to tell blatant lies about the reasons behind it.
What possible motive would they have for lying about the problems they are suffering?
You're all behaving like they have nothing to lose and these problems don't worry them too.
