Yup! Its that time!
Us here at EVE-DB are in need of some help. We're hard at work on content/database related material.
The "old" staff, which mainly was inactive or unresponsive, has been cleared. Left are the four Head Administrators, let me introduce you to them:
Athan - Man! What a brain he has! Don't ever contradict this man, because he'll flip that little switch to go from normal to technical and prove you wrong. Athan has been hard at work with our items database, and a good deal of the coding. Swell chap, one of a kind.
Ganja - Well.. what can we say about him? He's a trip. He monitors the ongoings in #eve-commerce on irc.stratics.com and handles a good deal of content located on EVE-DB. From what I hear from the other Heads.. he's good for giving a headache too!
McMike - Our current server administrator and also the one whom spends his time dealing with the up and coming, Sales Department. He too handles a good deal of coding. Good ole'lad this one is.
Radek - This chap runs the server which "www.afraidyet.net" runs off of, or how alot of us know as, stratics.afraidyet.net - the IRC server a good deal of us connect to when we are on Stratics. Once our new Sales Department and other various "tools" are up, Radek will run our bot networks directly off his server onto IRC, there inturn, killing 99% of lag. If thats not enough, he'll be mirroring our site to handle bandwidth issues. I give him two thumbs up!
Now that you're familiar with whom will be slavedriving.. err.. we mean, co-working with; shall we get down to the pressing matters in hand?
EVE-DB is in need of the following: Cartographers - These people will add things to our Map Database which we cannot find clientside. IE: Stations/Debris/etc. For your exploration pleasure. Database Scanners - These people will go through our Items Database and pick out the things that can either be bought via NPC, looted NPC, or not ingame yet. These people will specify, so you don't have to. Event Coordinators - These people will handle any events people choose to hold through EVE-DB. They will negotiate rules/etc. with the client, relay it to a Head and if approved - will run the event. Forum Scanners - These people will dare to enter these forums in which you read; to find actual useful posts that anyone can use to their will. For every post they find, they get a cookie! Moderators - A less-needed position to fill atm, but these persons will monitor the forums for disruptions and what not. Reporters - These people will be on-the-fly news casters to catch the news as it happens! Be it official ingame news, Dev blog updates, or corporation war news - They are on top of it! Reviewers - These people, in their free time, will review items they use and add it to our database, and will also filter submitted reviews. This way, if your thinking about buying that new ship, check out the review for it first! Storytellers - Keen minded people these ones are.. essentially persons to create stories from actual events, or out of the blue - and make them very intriguing. Tutorialists - Mmm.. talk about a needed skill in customer service for this position, but I think we can all guess what these people do.
EVE-DB is also in need of a Programmer who coorilates in the field of C++/VB/etc for we are in need of some specific programs to be made.
If you are in anyway interested - email Ganja at [email protected] Please - Only serious inquires wanted, don't join up and do nothing ------------------- EVE-DB Representative EVE-DB - If we don't know it, then you probably don't either. |
