Cheers, LOWA I think you have a good point there, ship losses alone only show you a part of the picture, the other side of things is what is actually being flown. Whether one flies 5 HACs and looses 1 or flies 40 HACs and looses 3 will look different depending on how you look at things, with merely a killboard it may seem like loosing 3 would be a big deal. With certain people posting about HAC losses being more important over BS losses one will assume that to those people HACs represent primary targets and that HACs for them are more valuable tools than Bships for example. As always killboards merely represent raw data, which neither is the complete set of data nor is it the only data one should work with. To get a complete picture one obviously needs the information gathered from within the alliances and their tactical and strategic decisionmaking, since that is what will lead to the raw data becoming what it is. ___________________________________ A spring day at the edge of the world. Stage 1...the blob (24/7) Stage 2...the lesser blob (usually timezone specific or same ppl) Stage 3...the silence (usually re-orginization of command/alliance structure) Stage 4...Crossroads...Stage 1 again or Stage 5. Stage 5...the "head in the sand"..(there are no infidels in bagdad!) Stage 6...the Hunt...Miners and npcers are hunted ruthlessly, 20seconds from jump to gank. Stage 7...the coup..moral blow Stage 8...gone fishin...the 10 ppl left in 0.0 space are coaxed anyway possible to undock/feel safe. This is the hardest and most gruesome part of it..fan bois are born. This is more grinding then anything for the aggressors. Stage 9...Mining...Nice region.

The loss is still the same, no matter if you make the item youreself. You always have to consider the alternative, the most obviously in this case should be to sell it for going market rate. So you cant write it off as a no-loss just because you only paid 40M, the alliance/corp as a whole loses the rest, one way or another.

We're not writing it off as a no-loss, we're saying we don't give 2 hoots about losing 5 hacs and 8 BS when we kill 24 bs and 1 hac and that those numbers are completely and utterly insignificant to us and, no doubt, SA. But more importantly, we spent one weekend **ing about in SA space, now we're doing something else, soon we will be doing something other than that, then maybe we'll take a visit to stain and live there. At that point, people should start looking at whether SA are kicking our ass. But let me make a wild, completely out there prediction.
