I got offered a story line today, and i have no intention of doing it for a couple of reasons
Main one being that i don't need the standings boost at all and there is no interesting reward from it, just Isk.
Do i take a (standing)penalty if let this storyline offer expire or reject it ??

Do the mission. The penalty for failing/not completing it could be devastationg at times, seriously.
I wish CCP would make it so they could also be declined w/o loss.

eh, seriously people - I've declined some of those my self - and never recieved any penalty hits. If you let it expire however - thats bad for you, mkay ...
Unless something changed after RMR, since I've not declined anyone after this.

Hiya,
I've worked for an agent in Vuorrassi towards a personal standing of 8+, she sends me to a Propel Dynamics storyline agent.
Cause I want to work for both I had not much choice other than to decline the first series of story agents for the Caldari.
So I've declined 5 or 6 Propel storyline missions without a standing hit.

Last important mission I was offered I just ignored because it was in Oursulaert.
No standing loss whatsoever. I didn't refuse the mission, just ignored it until the time ran out.

I always let these things expire as the rewards aren't worth it and I've no need of the related standings increases. So long as you haven't initally accepted the mission then I've never been penalised for letting the offer expire. Also these agents were typically 15 jumps away and declining a mission meant going to talk to that agent in-station which seemed a complete waste of time (unless you can decline remotely nowadays?)

Rubbish.
The only time you get a penalty is if you accept it and then fail.
If you reject it or ignore it till it expires you just dont get the standings gain that was on offer.

might i add - just for clarification - that this is not the same as agent missions handed out. if a "talk to agnet" misisons is given out it is better to DECLINE it then to just let it expire. A decline gives you no standing hit - but if you ignore it until it just expires you take a hit.
