not an abaddon expert, but you'd probably get a much better tank running 2 hardeners + a reactive armor hardener. Others will likely criticize your 3 cap rechargers and your rigs. |

Before it's even timely to criticize the fit... what are you going to do with that ship?
How tight is your ISK? How are your relevant skills? |

Sorry forgot to mention it is for level 4 missions, and price is irrelevant, just want the highest dps and highest tank that one could fit on a abaddon with max skills. |

Three minutes of cap without the cap booster. 818 DPS out to 64km + 19km with scorch 1026 DPS out to 21km + 19km with INMF 514 tank versus 50/50 EM/Therm. A Reactive Hardener + EANM should gets you ~800 tank at max resists.
On a side note, with Rubicon have you considered a Paladin? In bastion mode, 95km optimal with scorch and a 400+ tank with a MAR II (while being effectively cap stable as well.)
[Abaddon, Pulse] Imperial Navy Heat Sink Imperial Navy Heat Sink Imperial Navy Heat Sink Heat Sink II Armor EM Hardener II Armor Thermic Hardener II Core A-Type Large Armor Repairer
Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range Script Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range Script Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range Script Heavy Capacitor Booster II, Cap Booster 800

I've used an Abaddon for L4 missions but from my experience I find that the Apocalypse is generally better, even with good skills.
The Abaddons cap is really weak and if you use a cap booster but you're not stable (or at least close to stable, 3 minutes of cap is not enough) with guns + hardeners you'll end up burning through your cap boosters just to fire your guns, and once the NPCs start applying their dps on you things will get ugly especially on harder missions. The dps and tank may be better than the Apoc on paper, but I find that in the end, the Apocalypse is better for missions, the solid cap with the optimal range and tracking bonus means you apply your dps much better, and your tank is better simply because you have the cap to run it more.
The Abaddon will do better in certain missions (close range missions mostly) but most missions are long range and being capped at 65km range is really annoying sometimes. I would definitely recommend the Apoc over the Baddon. |

between stoicfaux and dato koppla, the only thing to add is that the nightmare and paladin will perform even better than the apoc whereas the navy apoc does not provide any substantial improvement in lvl4s. |

The Abaddon is a very noob-friendly ship TBH. Let's just assume that's what the OP is after. I've ran it myself when I had less white hair... You either go megapulse AND fit an afterburner or go megabeam. you can start off with four hardeners and slowly shed the tank in favor of damage modules when you get confident enough. |

Have you ever tried duel medium armor repairs rather than one large? Would be much easier to get cap stability. Perma run one medium and cycle the second if needed. If you go this route try to maximize your resists (2 racial hardners). |

Why do so many think cap stable is a must? Usually it's newer pilots but sometimes you'll get one that's not. Often cap stable means replacing DPS or tracking mods and that means needing more cap to tank because you're killing things slower. The only reason you would want cap stable is if you plan on going AFK or have an unstable internet connection. My Apocalypse has just under four minutes of cap and I've never had an issue in missions. |

Two med reps are a lot easier to manage as far as cap. Firstly with the faster cycle times you can pulse them much more efficiently and save a great deal of cap that way. Additionally if the damage is minimal you can just leave the second off all together and get a net cap gain over the period of time where as a single large is all or nothing.
And if two meds isn't sufficient for an initial room spawn or other situation you might consider swapping one of the meds for a aar for the extra burst tank until it can otherwise stabilize. This is particularly helpful if using adaptive hardeners. |
