Would like a drone-like probe that can be launched like a missle from a ship.
The probe could be launched and return various types of information depending on the probe.
For example: 1. Mining Probe - returns a survey of an asteroid field 2. Proximity Probe - returns NPC an PC activity in an area 3. Planetary Probe - returns information about a planet 4. Spy Probe - monitors transmission from NPC/PCs (would be a great agent mission btw) 5. Telemetry Probe - map system celetial bodies and allows for bookmarks to be made
Those are just a couple of possible ideas.
Probes would obviously have a much longer range than sensors...I mean that's the reason for a probe, to gather information for things outside of sensor range.
Maybe have the range of the probe be 1000km.

You forgot about the Anal Probe. It would return information on the contents of one's ass.

i think thoes are soem good idea.
I would like to see them remove the pilots in space, ships destroyed (npc and player) and things of that nature.
It seems strange in the middle of nowere that accurate data of that nature is being reported back for everyone.
Maby have the ability to also place listening post's out in deepsace that will report all activity in a syatem maby a constellation.
just soem ideas

Why would one need to get information from a planet, you can't do anything with planets, unless I'm mistaken.
I do find it strange everyone has the same info of the universe. In Escape Velocity you start out with each system next to you grey, you have to fly to it to learn about it and then it would show the branches that you can go from there. So it's like exploring. It aslo had maps you can purchase that will reveal a certain amount from your spot.

The Internet was developed in the late 20th century, providing essentially free and total information to all; we're now in the 234th century or some such, you don't think free access to info won't just have got better and better?

I guess I should have expected someone to say that about the info.
But anyone else knows if there's any purpose to planets. Is there anything in the EVE storyline explaining why there are no outposts and mining on planets? |

Now if that was more than ur sensor range i suggest talking to ur local ship dealer.
