I have been, up till now, using 280mmT2 howitzers on my Wolf, but on the advice of several other AF users, switched to autocannons (in this case 150mmIIs) to see if its better. Equipped with a webber i sought out an Angel Legionnaire (175k Cyclone BC rat) and tested out things like DOT and damage recieved by target.. Overall, i think i i could kill the BC faster with howies, but i get shot far less when orbitting at 1km with ACs.. The point of this topic is: I would like to know other peoples opinions on what you consider to be a good NPC setup for the Wolf for systems around 0.1 to 0.3.

if you are only doing belt spawns, howy's are probably better as you can dictate range more. for missions and deadspace(no mwd) then autos definitely rock more Galactica - The search goes on... |

oh yes, i use a named AB, so can do about 800m/s..... |

autos = higher dps, higher tracking, higher ammo use, lower fitting reqs, lower range
artillery = lower dps, lower tracking, lower ammo use, higher fitting reqs, higher range
for npcing I always use autos

The closeness to the target really reduces damage you receive while utterly striping them in record fast times. The only real problem with this setup is the damage you take while closing with the target. As soon as you are orbiting they almost never hit.

I have found autocannons to be best for everything except for inties. I always have to have the arties on for those webbing types or else I'm pretty much a sitting duck. ______________________________________________________ I forget which station container has my memory implants. |
