Dear pilots.
I have just finished doing the bpo lottery for a friend of mine, and I liked doing this, so I decieded to do another one, and if it catch on, I will make it a regular thing :D
There is a few changes compared to the last lottery:
There will be sold ONLY 250 tickets!
Last round there was a bit of confusion as some thought there would be sold only 200 tickets, well in this round ONLY/MAX/JUST/A TOTAL of 250 tickets will be sold :)
Also, this round a ticket will cost 10million.

And there will be alot more prizes:
1st Prize: 1x battleship bpo of choice!
2nd Prize: 1x Battlecruiser bpo of choice!
3rd Prize: 1x Battlecruiser bpo of choice!
4th Prize: 1x Cruiser bpo of choice!
5th Prize: 1x Cruiser bpo of choice!
6th Prize: 1x Cruiser bpo of choice!
This totals about 1.9billion worth of bpo's

And now, For the rules:
- 1 ticket cost 10million isk (10.000.000)
- MAX tickets is 10 per person (which equals 100million isk)
- Reply to this post once the isk is sent (This is bacause some1 have names that are typed in various ways, and its easy for me to just check the forum and compare the picture ingame to make sure its the right person)
IMPORTANT:
To Participate:
- Transfer your isk to "XTrans Lottery" (This is my alt and has been created for this purpose alone. SHE IS a member of X-Trans too)
As this alt has the sole purpose to keep record of the lottery tickets, I will only log her in once in a while to check status on ticket sales and send out confirmation mails.
If you do not recieve a mail within a day or two, please contact me. EVERYONE will recieve this mail atleast 12 hours before the draw

I'll probably be sending a 100 mil again. 100 mil for 4% chance of winning something and <24% chance of at least getting something.
While writing this a question occured to me. After someone wins, do all their tickets get taken out of next prize drawing? Someone wins BS, their 10 tickets gets taken out, then the BC will be drawn for, etc.

Yes, I've been thinking about this myself, and basicly how it goes is that if you win on one ticket you still have 9 tickets left, but though HIGHLY unlikely a person COULD win all prizes, which would be very bad in many ways (except from to the winner of course)
One solution could be that any one person can win MAX two prizes? though I doubt this will be the case its good to have it sorted out before hand.
What do you guys think about that? :)

Confirmation has been sent, and at current rate of sales it will take about 7 days to sell all tickets, so pretty much going as planned atm :P
Thanks to all for buying tickets so far! Hopefully I will make 6 people very happy in about a week :D
And as for the question regarding winning multiple bpo's:
I'm setting a MAX limit of bpo's you can take home to two.
This means that if you have two tickets (or more) you stand the chance at winning two bpo's, and of course the more tickets you have, the bigger your chances are to actually win something. with ten tickets you have a 4% chance at winning the first prize, but also a 24% chance at actually winning something (unless my math is way of! Feel free to correctme if it is)

I've never had much luck when it comes to the lottery. In fact, the most I ever won from a corner store scratch card was $10, and when it happened I almost crapped my pants. Anyway, I figure if I win this one... maybe luck is with me after all. If not... I guess I'm just not a lottery kinda guy.

I wouldn't worry about it Xinity. I'm sure interest will pick up again shortly. You still have a full 3 days to hit your projected weekend deadline and the anticipation is half the fun anyway.
As for your question earlier about a cap on the number of prizes... I think most people would agree that regardless of how the lotto is being run, (random hat draw, computer program, whatever), a two-time winner should probably be ineligable for more prizes. In the unlikely event that 3 of their tickets turn out to be winners, the 3rd and all subseqent winning tickets should probably be discounted.
There's nothing worse than sitting at a blackjack table and watching the guy next to you draw 21 three times in a row and getting nothing but 7's and 8's.

well i would have bought 2 more tickets but i got curious about courier missions and went to examine one and while i was trying to click view route my optical mouse had a hickup and it hit accept why dont they have a confirm box like they do on escrow ohh well consider this a free bump. i will be staying far from that courier mission tab for now on.

At the current rate of sales I'd guess the draw will take place around thursday next week, but then again, once there is few tickets left, it might speed up a bit..
I will not be able to log in until sunday night to update sales and send out confirmation mails.

And there is now 108 tickets left for sale, so the end is closing in. :D
I will be ingame a little later today to send out the confirmation mails, got home very late last night, so I couldn't get around to it then.
Also: I will be doing the draw in real time the following day after the last ticket has been sold.

What does everyone that have bought tickets feel about clsoing this down in say a day or so and cut away a the battlecruiser bpo's?
the bs bpo and the three cruiser bpo's should come to about what the tickets amount to. +- a few mill.

Well, if sales have indeed halted, my vote would be to simply terminate this lotto, refund ISK and start a new lotto right away that requires fewer tickets and perhaps has a smaller and more specific set of bpos up for grabs. "bpo of choice" doesn't make much sense considering that most people who are completing for the prizes will likely chose the most valuable bpo over others (unless they are industrialists looking for something specific).
I'm suggesting that by putting named bpos up for grabs, you'll know exactally how much the prizes will end up costing, which makes determining how many tickets you'll need to make it fair and still walk off with a decent profit a bit easier.
I don't think anyone here would be upset if they got their ISK back and could use it to buy tickets in a new, smaller lotto. I sure as Hell wouldn't. I'd just buy tickets in the new lotto and go on with my life.
Anyway, I'm good with whatever the majority of people want to do.

Rather than cancelling the lotto, you need to:
a) revise the rules in your original post (max.2 wins per ticket holder)
b) name the items that will be won and approx. price (people like to see numbers...)

^^ Good point. I actually considered buying 10 more tickets with an alt, thus increasing my chances to win two-fold, but that's just wrong. I also realized that these types of lottos require a good deal of trust in the lotto manager, since one of their alts could simply by 1 ticket and win the grand prize.

I think that 2nd and 3rd prize are both battlecruiser bpos, so losing one of them in favor of getting the lotto over and done with is not something that sits bad with me. With little over (or under) 1 billion ISK worth of tickets left, at least one of the bcs might have to go.

Yeah, I can understand that, but my question is really: "why?"
what I'm doing is offering a service, 99.5% of everything that goes on in eve is in one way or another related to increase one's wealth.
Just take my profit here, I send out confirmation mails for every person that buys a ticket, I log and I update and I keep track.. so far I've spent two weeks on this lottery, and that makes my profit 250mill/week for a small to modest amount of work.
Then you can compare it to t2 ship builders, they pay a little extra to get things delivered to them, set a build order, reply to mails, and make billions of profit on overpriced items. Just take the hulk for instance! dunno what the going price is now, but the last time I checked it was over 500mill. how much does this ship cost to make? I'm willing to bet less than 100mill (including the 30mill covetor they need) thats 400mill profit every day.
Oh and don't confuse this with talking down on overpriced items, I love that the market acctually work in a supply/demand manner :D
basicly what I'm saying, we all have goals, and we all have ways to make a profit. :)
Personnaly I'm trying to raise 21billions so that I'm able to buy all the skills needed to fly every ship in the game :)
and I'm really sorry that some might think that me making a profit on offering this service is a bad thing, but then again, I'm not forcing anyone to buy a ticket :D afterall, its you thats missing out on winning a 1billion bpo, not me

For your lottery, its pretty hard to criticize, good organization, reactivy...
And the best you are clear, you write in the first post how many isk you will win in this lottery.
But 600M for a 2.5B Auction is too much to my mind. Maybe add 1 or 2 prices, you will win less isk but probably end this lottery sooner (i will help and take 10 tickets in this case).

Thank you, and I know that a lottery is a diffrent thing compared to the t2 bpo's, but its also a little bit more work, though some owners put alot of work in their sales and all honor to them :D
And I do realise that I might have turned my profits up a little high, but as I am also against changeing rules after I start something (except from when it benefit my costumers) I'm hoping that the lottery will finish like it was planned.
I have added that 15 tickets will be picked and the isk for those tickets will be returned as another 15 small "prizes", and the next lottery will hold probably a bs bpo and some "ticket return prizes" and alot less tickets to be sold.

If you buy ten tickets, you can basicly (if you are extreeeeemly against all odds lucky) win ALL 6 prizes and on top of that with the new 15 tickets will get refunded prizes you can get all your tickets refunded

Good point... but that's kinda the point. It's not like everyone else hasn't figured that out already. The point is that you get a shot at winning something major for a comparatively minor investment.
Casino's don't provide such services for free.
The state and regional lottos don't provide them for free either.
Honestly, I'd be more concerned about future lottos being rigged by the person running it. However, if something looks legit and you enjoy gambling, you've just gotta take your chances an go for it imo.

Well yeah, but skills aside, it took me over a year to build up the reputation I've recieved from the reference links you see at the bottom of the initial post, and still its hard to convince people that this is not rigged.
I mean, I've had much more isk on my hands and made perhaps 20millions from transporting it when I could make 3 billions stealing it.
On this I make a bigger profit and also in turn build my reputation as a honest person, so why would I rig the lottery? :)

how about you just make it 200 tickets. that way you only got 38 tickets left to sell which is reasonable. in return, cut one of the cruiser BPOs, it'll cut ur profit a bit, but it'll get this thing sorted. and next time, try just having 1BS bpo, and the others say, 110% moneyback (so the players gain a bit of isk) and only make it 150-180 tickets? that way thats
1.8bil worth of tickets
1bil bpo, 200mil or so in other prizes, your still making 500-600 mil. and it looks easier to manage.

Seems like the ticket sales are picking up a bit again, and 77 tickets are left now, so a draw with full range of prizes seems within grasp sometime mid next week possibly :D

But I also wanna thanks everyone that have posted in my defence, but also the ones voicing your concerns. This lottery is in its initial stage, and there are flaws to be worked out and issues to be addressed :) Hopefully I can use all the information to make the next lottery a better one :D

As you all know, there are a few BPO's to be won and also a little cash to be refunded :D
Every ticket you buy have a chance at winning all of the bpo's. BUT if you have 1 ticket that win one of the bpo's, that ticket will be removed from the draw of the rest of the bpo's. So in short: You can only win one bpo PER ticket.
But if you have 10 tickets, you can run away with ALL bpo's if lady fortuna shines on your part of the galaxy on the eve of the draw ;)
Then you have the 15 tickets that will win a refund:
This draw is separate from the bpo draw, so if your ticket get refunded you can still win a bpo on that very same ticket.
So if lady fortuna is in love with you, you can actually win all bpo's AND get all 100million refunded! Though I wouldn't bet on that to happend
Chances of that would be maybe one in a gazillion! If that good!
