Hi there
I'm looking for a Domi setup for LvL4 missions. I had a setup before which was basically 4x NOS in the highs, Mids: Cap recharge and sensor booster, perhaps (AB), lows, 2x LAR II, 1600mm plate and cap relays, with a PDU II thrown in too.
I did the "Duo" mission and while killing the spider drones was easy enough, killing the BS's wasn't. At the time I only has BS I/II and drone interfacing III. I now have Drone Interfacing III and BS III is only a couple hours away and I think I might be able to do that little bit of extra dmg now. But I'm looking for a better tank setup too.
Should I even bother with a sensor booster and just fit cap rechargers? Drop the plate and a cap relay for hardeners? Any help welcome.
Thanks

Hey there.
Not sure if this is the kind of answer you want, but for what it's worth, my countersuggestion in setup:
highslots: 4 x medium neutron blasters, 2 heavy nosses. (Yes, I know that the med blasters don't get a bonus, but there simply isn't grid for large blasters :s)
Medslots: 100mn AB (optional, but suggested for the long DS missions, and for the NPCs that keep running away), 1 webber (any type, really), 3 x cap rechargers (as good as you can get).
lowslots: 2 x large T2 armor repairers, 3 x T2 racial hardeners, 1-2 cap relays, 0-1 Energized adaptive nano membrane T2.
For missions against enemies that only deal 2 types of damage (Guristas, Serpentis, etc), use 3 hardeners and 2 relays. For Angels and likewise, use 3 hardeners + 1 nano.
Don't bother with the plate, IMO, you'll need sustainability more than raw hitpoints.
Oh, and with high cap skills, 1 repairer + hardeners will run indefinately, and the second one can run for a good while, too.
Hope it's of some use. It's served me well so far in lvl 4 missions.
The only problem I see is that drones are too unreliable. They are prone to go for the gusto and aggro *everything* apart from the one group you want them to, so you'll need to be careful when deploying them.
Cheers :)

Go with what clipped wings suggested. I use the same mid/low setup, just with heavy pulse lasers in the highs (I have much better laser skills than hybrid skills, and I prefer the extra range over med blasters... like he said there isn't the grid for large blasters or I'd use them).
As for your questions... drop the sensor booster, you don't need to lock fast on missions and you can't snipe with your setup anyway. Definitely fit hardeners or you won't be tanking anything for very long.

Clipped Wings is right about the medium neutron blasters, they do almost the same damage of the large electrons in theory, but they really outdamage them thanks to their better tracking and signature resolution.

I've been considering using the Domi for the very same thing and was looking at using 250mm T2s (mediums again) in the high slots as I don't want to spend ages chasing BS rats that try and stay out of your range. It's an alternative to the blaster option certainly - just not sure how valid it is...

try this 5 250TII railguns with AM or thorium 1 drone nav link
1 omni drone tracking link 1 track comp II 1 heavy cap charger with 800s 2 cap charger IIs
2 LAR II 5 hardeners (3 and 2 kin/therm for gur and 1 of each plus 2 energised adaptive nano IIs for angel/drones)
drone bay of wasps and med II drones. Never need to go smaller than a med drone with the tracking link

Clipped wings is the man. Used that setup for months doing lvl4s. Piece of ****. It can walk through any level 4 mission with relative ease as long as you have good drone skills.
I find sentries can be useful for those BS that like to sit at 40km and "snipe" you aswell, but having a range of light/medium/heavy is essential (of course, the correct dmg type for the mission)

clipped looks like a good setup - will try and remember about the drones, just gang someone - anyone will do and they behave. I think it even works if you gang someone then they ungang, you are still in a gang (of just you) and the drones behave

3 large smart bombs. one medium. 2 energy neuts.
Fill up with tracking computers and yes, keep the booster.
May want to consider a shield tank + ECM ---------------------------------------- Friends Forever |

I'm pretty good at managing my drones and where they go, I've been able to Tank the whole of a 6/10 in my Ishkur and let my drones do the work for me.
I'll def take a look at those setups, thanks very much.

Here is a setup I used for huntung rats in 0.0: high: 6 * modal mega ion blasters med: ab, shield booster, 2 kinetic hardener, shield boost amplifier low: 6 * PDU tech 2, mag stab tech 2
Tech 2 drones, and garde 20km sentry drones in the drone bay.
Its also possible to use 425 railguns instead of the blasters if you prefer that.

Edited by: Klurig on 14/02/2006 09:23:07 A different setup I find works is passive tanking it in the spirit of Pottsey.
HI: 5x 425mm rail 2 or neut blasters (cant fit more on this setup Med: 2x passive rat specific shield amplifier OR 2x invuln field. 3x Large shield extenders. Low: 2 PDS 2 and the rest shield power relays. Everything on this setup is t2 except the shield power relays which arent out yet I think.
This setup require extreme amounts of SP to work nice and the rat specific passive reisist skills. Or you could use 2x t2 invuln fields. Also buy the two implants that give +3% shield recharge rate and HP. they are like 1m each.
Using t2 ogres and those guns you can eat through anything a lvl 4 throws at you and with a passive recharge of approx 100 HP per second. Keepa set of med and light drones too just because you can. the best part is that everything runs forever since it uses no cap. well the guns do but they arent your main dmg source anyway. ----------------------------------------------- Every light creates shadows - klurig |

Am I missing something here ? Smart Bombs on a domi ? Tracking computers in the mids, when you have no guns ? I'll assume tracking computers means drone tracking omni thingies, rather than tracking computers, but still - smartbombs with drones for NPCing

Holy moley I'd no idea passive tanking was so effective
