hmmm we need a randomness degree perhaps a similar to the LP system ie choice of 10-50 different possible BPCs from each agent.

I really don't like the idea of being forced to wait weeks to scroll through tens of offers to get one you like . -- Proud member of the [23].

Its not that I think it will undermine them; I think the system in of itself will work very nicely. The problem is that many people are going to drop out (of sorts) of the BPO lottery by purchasing new BPC rewards. Anyone who remains in the lottery field will have a much greater chance of getting new BPOs, from what I'm aware (less competition).
The people who are the least likely to 'drop out' are going to be those in a megacorp, who would probably already have access to BPOs from several t2 ships and wouldn't need or want to sell the BPCs. In other words, those who have T2 BPOs could have a much higher chance of continuing to gain them. ------------------------------------ Humbug ! |

Why try to implement something so massive? Why not make it possible to run multiple production lines from one BP? Have a skill for it.
Its quite possible that many of the BPCs are going to go right back to the current producers anyways.
If supply of necessary building materials is stable, then all that is needed to give the market a boost is to increase productivity at the production stage. This would keep the production in the hands of the current builders, but would allow them to meet demand. It would increase supply to some extent, and would push producers to keep their assembly lines running at maximum capacity in order to keep up with competition's ability to meet demand.
From an RP standpoint, it doesnt' make alot of sense that production lines can't networked to one Blueprint anyway.

Its simple, Once a tech II BPO has been out for 1 year. It should seed from the open market just like normal tech 1 BPO.
Then Prices will fall. Then people won't charge 200 mill for a 50 mill ship.
supply and demand my butt. The demand isn't such that it could warrant quadrupling the price of something. Tech 2 items are indeed a luxury, But ALL Tech II Frigs are reasonably priced, when you get to logistics cruisers they are cheap , when you get to HAC's you might as well bang your head against a wall.
In this game the rich people stay rich By ripping off the poor. thats the way its always been.
By allowing tech II BPO's to seed from the open market after a year it also allows a reasonable price to be set for a tech II ship/module.
Noone loses, the Tech II Bpo owner gets 1 years headstart of profit on his BPO. and when the tech II item is old, anyone can buy it normally.
I like your idea to Dark Shikari |

Not a horrible idea Turtle Head, but you will still be looking at the same incredible prices over that year grace period.
If you make the system capable of increasing demand say 5-10 fold, you will fix the supply issues that currently abound.
Maybe I am a special case, but I dont' mind paying 100M for a zealot/vagabond, but I do mind waiting three months for it.
Give the current producers, who have all the necessary skills already, the ability to ramp up productivity and the wait lists on each of the big three websites will disappear, prices will fall, and we will have our ships.
Make it so BPs can be used on more than one production line at a time. Simple, easy, done.
