rupture
con's: not as fast as a stabber pros: kicks the arse of every t1 cruiser besides a blackbird that cheats with jammers. also takes down frigs very easily. oh, and battlecruisers. it's a wee bit overpowered atm, but not to the extent the thorax was
stabber
pros: it's faster than a rupture, and makes a very good "heavy tackler" cons: far more fragile than a rupture
check the stickied ship setup thread for some rupture setups

pvp
rupture if you want to kill things, stabber as heavy tackler/dmg support
pve
i'd generally go with a rupture there

If you can afford the ammo expenses, Autocannon Rupture
Better, yet, buy a BPO/c for EMP M/Fusion M and make your own.

Stabber is better for killing frigs and destroyers imo, but for everything else, you kinda need a rupture.

180s + web = every frigate is dead.
220s + web = most frigates are dead.

Not every frigate/dessie runs straight into web range

If they're not in web range, likelihood is they'll not be massively far outside of it, and at that point you have no problem hitting them anyway :P

Rupture post RMR is superior to the stabber. It's probably superior to any other cruiser atm in all-around performance. Unless you need a heavy tackler that's cheap, use rupture.

a little off topic but how would a stabber go as a fully nossing ship in small group pvp? this means all highs filled with nosf

unless you are using a drone boat (Vector/Ishtar/Dominix), don't bother. If you want to go this route, find a ship that has a fairly large drone bay and do a 50/50 split of guns to nos, but it's not really that effective.

Its not so much the ammo expenses that bother me, its finding the ammo type I want in the reigon I'm in that is the hard part. No-one sells my lovely Phased Plasma. I'd be running an Autocannon Ruppy all the time if I didnt have to get in my Hauler every day and have to go a good few jumps to get a full cargo hold of ammo.
On the otherhand, I never thought about using BPO's before, they are quite cheap, and I could simply buy 5 or so, and take over a stations manaufacturing slots with my stuff. Do multiple runs on each BP (say 10 at a time or so) and stagger them so that you have fresh amo supplies every few hours.
Hmm.....in fact....I think I'll be putting my A/C's back on my Ruppy! don't have the skills for Tech2's but I think I have 4 Prototype 180's lying about in a hangar somewhere.

Stabber all the way, make it like a mini-vagabond.

i fly both.
stabber for fast hit n runs, rupture for solid cruiser autocannon tank.
2x heavy launchers 4x scout dual 180's = lots of dead things.
armor tank it all the way :)

Rupture vote here because I love mine so much, give your fitting skills (electronics, engineering) and Nav skills some love (gunnery too of course) and this boat just gets better. Just wait till you get your first T2 fitted Muninn my friend, Oh Momma!
