I have a trouble with docking in a specific station. Each and every time I dock at that given station, I get a completely black screen. Only thing I see is the highlights when I hover my mouse over the icons. I get no errors or alerts when docking.
What is wrong? How can I get it working? This behaviour came with the last patch, never experienced it before.

I've had this quite a lot since the last patch (1066). The best solution I've found is to delete the 'prefs.ini' file from your 'cache' directory within the Eve install folder. It resets a few things, but gets you back in the game.

I got this last night. Had to log off and come back in to the game again. Helped the problem but its a pain in the arse solution.
Been wondering latley if all these problems that online games will eventually force people back towards Single Player games... ---------------------------------------------- Life - Don't tell me about Life - Marvin |

I reinstalled EVE and now it works. Strange that these things could happen at all.

It became rather annoying because it was happening at stations in which I had just set-up offices. As the game seemed to be ok behind the black screen (ship menu etc.) I assumed it was a client problem so I went through the prefs.ini deleting lines until I found the one that caused it. I don't know what the line is for but my guess is that it is related to whether you are looking at 'guests' 'agents' or 'offices'. Anyway if you look for tabs_lobbytabs_171721266= in the prefs.ini it will have (that i have seen) 0 or 2. In all the stations where I have had problems the value is 2 and when you change it to 0 everything is OK. You have to log out, make the change and then relog for it to work.
Forgot to add - even if this doesn't work for you. If you assign a keyboard shortcut to 'Exit Station' you can leave the current station (you might get an error but ignore it) and go to other stations.
Thats what you get for posting in a haste - the 171721266 is just a char no. everything else is correct .
