I was disappointed when the live event was announced and I could not join the fun because I work during the day. However, once news started to trickle in about the massive slaughter of innocent highsec players my disappointment turned to outrage. Highsec is my home and while I did not personally know any of the people who were unfortunate that day I felt just as angry! In fact, I'm mad as hell!!! To all fallen brothers and sisters who bravely ventured into the void that day, your betrayal by CCP will not be forgotten.
If you were one of the poor victims who was fed like live bait to the wolves in nullsec, please send me your killmail in game from that day. I will use this to count up the total amount lost and once we tally up the numbers I will start a fund raiser to help restore some if not ALL of your lost gear. The more ISK we can raise for this cause the more you will receive to cover your losses.
I will personally donate 500 million ISK to the cause from my own savings. You may be wondering if I am trying to scam donations from others, and I have a plan to deal with this also. Anyone who donates ISK will send me a mail that I will publish publicly in google docs, You can choose to be an anonymous doner or include your name. including the amount donated and the person who received it. When the total amount matches their lost killmail amount we will achieve our goal. I will also post updates as donations are gathered with total amounts listed. All I ask is that you be patient as there are many lost ships to replace. But I think we can achieve this goal and undo the damage together.
If you are donating send me an in game mail with the header:
DONATIONS FOR VICTIMS OF CCP.
If you wish to remain anonymous please say so in the subject and I will post your donation without your name.
We are all brothers and sisters in highsec and we will not forget or forgive how you were treated. Stand together, lets show the nullsec rats that we are better then them!!! Help me restore and replenish every single lost ship that day. Lets fight injustice and unfairness together brothers and sisters!
To each highsec hero who ventured that day into nullsec you are the true heros of New Eden.

Hm. New Eden Children's Crusade ends with predictable results. Outrage ensues. What I'm failing to understand is how this is CCP's fault, and not that of those who were involved in the fireworks. Surely the nullsec folks who were removing tresspassers were no more to blame than the disorganized mass heedlessly charging into an area that they were unwelcome in. Yes, CCP did organize the event, but it was the choice of the individuals to participate. |

In all seriousness I was also kind of disappointed that I had to work when this was taking place, so I missed it. I don't think it was foolish for folks to want to go try this, I just think that any expectation of coming back alive was unrealistic. |

How can any high sec player not be rolling in ISK ?. .. The only thing that I can think of is that some might be so bad at PVE they lose more ships doing incursions than the make from them. Then need to go mine for 300 hours to buy faction fit ships to lose to the sansha? |

There is this nifty bar up in the upper left hand corner of the screen. when you see orange or red it means you are fair game for anyone. Its not CCPs fault that a bunch of high sec people decided to lemming themselves in to people camping a gate. CCP is not here to hold peoples hands or tell them how to play this game. The people that pushed the jump button are the ones to blame, not CCP. Its not CCPs fault that those people didnt know how to fight or their ships were fit with pve stuff.
Every one of those people learned a lesson the hard way. They all had a chance not to go when they were given the destination and told to burn there. They also could have stopped when they realized it was going in to null or low sec.
In closing,
Welcome to Eve. |

Of course it was CCPs fault. When a FC gives his fleet the order to jump the gate it's his responsibility what happens to that fleet. Or do you suggest that the lesson learned from that event should be "ignore FC's orders if you don't like them" ?
The only fault of the players was to trust CCP's FCs and fleet with them. If I organize a live event and then just suicide the fleet no one would fly with me again... the same thing applies to CCP. |

It does not work that way OP.
If it was CCP's fault they will simply ignore everything and you will never even get an answer.
If it was the pilots own faults and they lost SP in the process however, chances are good you get stuff back.
If you are a personal friend of some dev then you probably got a free ship for the event anyway and there is really nothing to complain about.
On a personal note. This opinion is based on the observations of CCP's behavior in the last months. Half a year ago I would have never believed that I can get so bitter, I'm usually a very optimistic person. CCP managed. |

You see, if people did actually die in EVE I could probably understand all the wailing and hand wringing over this incident. But seeing as we are immortal in game, and all you lose is your ship and implants if podded, then whats the issue? Sure, it was a poorly planned ( or was it...dun dun dun..) live event, but come on, are you really that surprised CCP done messed up? And if you are, if you have been living in this game blindly oblivious to the failings of the people who run it, then at least this event opened your eyes. |

If this isnt a scam its a nice thought.
I went as part of the highsec fleet to the Sarum/ihab stage.
Before I went there I knew I would lose my ship. I still went because I wanted to take part in the event and get to meet more players.
I died in a fire and I couldn't care less for the simple reason I had fun.
I've seen people complaining about this topic alot and wanting reimbursement but I dont think its needed. What did people expect? For CCP to send an advance dev fleet to clear a path and let everyone shoot the facility and potter off back to highsec none the worse for wear just missing a little ammo?
When you undock, even in a 1.0 system, you run the risk of loosing your ship, its a risk 99% of eve players make multiple times a day, just because this time CCP lead them into a slaughter doesnt mean you should be reimbursed for the loss.
The event itself was not fantastic due to it being as one-sided as a gang **** but it served its purpose. |
