pre rmr it was easy in an apoc for me, after rmr i stated using an AF for lvl 3's, and now i just avoid spy stash, i could probably do it in my retribution but need warp outs on the second level, so it just takes to long, doing it in an apoc would take to long too, though doable.
the damage you take from the second level is more then some easy level 4's. what ships are you using to do it?

I've taken spy stash three times in a Brutix battlecruiser.
The first time I lost my ship on the second part just as I prepared to warp out. However, I did enough damage to mop up with my Thorax and recover my mods.
The second time was the smoothest. I still had to warp out on the second part, but was able to breeze through when I got back.
The third time I actually aggroed the entire first zone, which hadn't happened before; had to warp out there and again on the second level.
My main issue is cap. My repairer can keep up as I destroy targets and reduce incoming damage, but it drains me too bad to finish off the stragglers. My strategy on the last part is to take out the missile turrets first because they are closest. I aggro all of the ships so they don't bother my drones, and take out as many of them as I can before warp out. Then, clean up the remaining ships and sentry guns on the second run.
Although, skipping this mission all together isn't a bad idea. If I fitted a cap injector for the second level, I probably wouldn't have to warp out at all.
I can't see a battleship having any difficulty with this, and it wouldn't be any less manueverable than a BC with a couple nanofibers in the lows.

Edited by: Ghoest on 14/02/2006 04:14:20 Do you mean lvl 3 Spy Stash?(I have no idea if there is a lvl 4.)
Its my favorite lvl 3 because I can run it fast and it pays big.
I use either an active tank Ferox with 5 250s and 2 heavies or a Cyclone with 5 220s 3 heavies and a webber.
If you can use T2 PDS and T2 Sheild boosters it should be easy. I just close fast on everything and kill it quick.
Also good drone skills helps a lot. 5 Lightis take care of any frigs that you dont get sniped on the way in.
Wherever you went - here you are.

There is only a Gurista version yes?
It has changed since RMR, in that the first stage almost always has 2/3 of the level aggro you when you shoot at anything.
The other thing which makes it harder, is that you are now faced with the possibility of being jammed as well as warp scrambled on stage 2. Stage 1 can take longer because you get jammed occasionally as well.
So yes, a bit harder than before RMR. I do it in my Cerberus... nice 'n quick.

I don't have too many problems with Spy Stash in my Ferox. As soon as I enter stage 2, I just start flying in the opposite direction to the Guristas and start picking off the cruisers with missiles.
Active tank, appropriate hardeners, and nos on the nearby frigs (I think there are frigs?) lets me complete this dropping to 30-40% shields. I'd find it a lot harder if I had to engage with guns.

Thanks for the replys guys i feel embarresed now cos i first lost my raven! then i tanked up my ferox (T1 not got T2 shields) and lost that, i tried different approaches to the situation but every time i warped in everything pounded me (sentrys, ships everything) it even felt as though the acceleration gate was firing at me I did manage to get to the second level but lasted 23 seconds! No matter what i did everything aggroed as soon as i warped in! can sombody give me a list of what to dress my new ferox in for another attempt

Find out what damage the Rats do, use hardeners instead of damage increasing modules, it seems alot of people think DPS is worth more than Durability, its not in missions. Get medium or light drones in the Dronebay for the pesky webbing/scrambling frigs. Switch drones according to enemiy weaknesses, does a ****load of difference vs their frigs.

@Navek : At both stages the rule is: Don't attack the turrets. As soon you fire on those, everything will agro you. Finish the rats first, then go for the turrets. on the first stage, kill the two small frigs at the warp in point and then get som distance to the rest. When you shoot at the fist rat, 2/3 of them will agro you, try to oick of the jammers first (Nullifiers comes to mind). Tank mostly Kinetic 2nd. stage - get distance, kill ships, kill turrets.... It's quite esay when you get the hang of it, but scarry the first few times.
