I don't know if there has ever been any mention of this so I thought I would bring this up. 1. Has anyone ever given some thought to some sort of Eve bank that would assist players in making larger purchases? For example if you are a fairly new player and you are just about ready to go into a Battle Cruiser or maybe a Battle Ship you don't have any friends that have alot of isk because they are all starting out the same as you, so you go to the Eve bank and take a loan for your new ship. There is an interest rate of course and the payments would be deducted weekly from your wallet, maybe they require you to put up your cruiser as collateral. 2. Another idea would be instead of taking the Bank route make it so a player can loan another player isk at an agreed upon interest rate and that the isk would be taken out at whatever frequency is agreed upon from the players wallet. Also if required by the loaner that there could items setup as collateral if the payments could no longer be made. Just a few idea's what do you guys think? Do you think that this could also prevent people from paying money for isk online if they had an avenue in game to get isk quickly?

Marano, There's already a PC corporation like this. Although I can't recall the details (the name of the corp or such things as that), their webpage does have the details. Since I'm at work right now and can't find the bookmark in my IGB browser, I'll have to get the info to you some other way. Just suffice it to say that it's been thought of and implemented already, but a little healthy competition wouldn't hurt if you wanted to get into the field (interest rate battles and all). - Nicodei "May all your hits be crits." - Knights of the Dinner Table

Beginning players wanting money for a ship likely to be destroyed is not my idea of an ideal loan opportunity. Offering as collateral a ship one tenth the value of the desired purchase makes no sense either. If I were a loan officer I would want to secure your battlecruiser with a property of greater than or equal to it's value.

The big bank is more of a pawn shop. Trouble with loans in Eve is that there is no way to be sure a loan unsecured with collateral will come back to you, its jsut to easy to skip out on them. BMBE I think the BIG bank is called, takes collateral and gives you a loan worth 75% of that. Its great from some things, but not really a loan. If you default they claim the collateral. The advantage is the fast liquidity, you can pay it back at low intrest, and they will takes items spread all over the place. But basically, Pawn shop, best that can be done with current mechanics. -------------- Silver Night Director -Production and ScienceHave a question about Prime Fiction? Ask here!
