I've been trying to log into the game all day now, but it never works. I run the launcher as admin, put in my password, the game runs and brings me to the character selection screen. I select my character, then I get this.

It sits there for several minutes, then I get this:

I was playing the game just fine last night before I went to bed.
Here is a list of things I've tried so far:
Restarted the computer twice
Restarted my modem and my router
Updated my video card driver
Run the launcher as admin
Run the repair tool in the launcher
Deleted the game cache
I ran a tracert, nothing ever went above 130ms on any of the hops.
Any advice on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. I just resubbed a couple of days ago, this was not the kind of experience I had in mind when I came back. |

This has nothing to do with your video card. This is probably a problem with your ISP or your router. You could test this by running on another network. As you did not mention changing any settings on your router I have to go with the ISP part.
Did you go through the https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Network_Guide#Router_.26_Firewall? Just the Router and Firewall part.

I don't understand. Sometimes it lets me connect and get passed that black screen that I linked in the OP, sometimes it doesn't. I just have to keep force closing the game through the task manager and trying again. Nothing else works. |

Ok, so I referred myself a second account because I wanted to make a mining alt but don't want to stop training this characters combat skills. I'm having the problem with both accounts, but I did find out something interesting. After a few tries, I got the first account connected and playable passed the black screen. When I would try to log on to my second account, I could actually see character b coming online through character a's watchlist, even though character b is never actually making it into the game.
Basically:
Try several times to make it passed black screen on Character A, finally make it.
Try several times to make it passed black screen on Character B, don't make it but I can see the character connecting to the server each time through Character A's watchlist.
Finally make it in after several more attempts on Character B.
I don't know if this helps at all.
Also, I am having this problem whether I am running a router or not. |
