Don't know where else to put this so....
My attributes on my character sheet are showing my basics despite having trained several of the learning type skills.
Any ideas? Is it just cosmetic or have I lost those points?

Same thing's happened to me .. I was given to understand that it was only cosmetic, and actual attributes aren't affected. Then again, I was also given to understand that it would right itself when I relogged, and it hasn't, so ....
....anybody?

Edited by: Leblivyl on 01/09/2003 21:55:06 I have the same problem, and it is all but cosmetic. I lost a lot of points (yes LOST!) just by loggin in to se if that helped. Apperently they save the time needed to finish and not the points :(
And the calculation is based on the base attributes and not the real ones with added skill bonus. In other words you dont get anything for your bonuses (except dev point loss)
I is nearly a permanent state for me in the last 3-4 days (might be more, just noticed it for 4 days ago).
Ups forgot to say that the attribute shows up now and then, so they are not lost, but their effect is.

One suggestion guys. Have you tried to clear you cache? Make sure you save your prefs.ini file and put it back in after you delete everything else. Lasing our treasures here ....... and chasing our pleasures there. |

I have this issue also. I have tried clearing the cache and although it seemed to fix the numbers, the next time I logged on they were back at their starting values.
I am not sure that this is NOT effecting my skills, as the level 3 skill I am learning at present reports that it will take a LOT longer than any of the skills calculators say.
Has anyone reported this yet and if so have you had a response ?

I too have the problem but I am 99.99% positive it is only cosmetic. No points have been lost, at least for me, although at times it may appear so. Here's how it seems to work.
Let's say you have a skill that would take 5 days to train.
If your attributes show their starting values the skill you are training has actually gotten a boost in apparent points so that it will finish at its slower pace in 5 days. This will make it seem that you are getting ripped off because training is so slow.
If your attributes show their learning boosted values the skill you are training will show the correct number of skill points so that it will finish at its normal pace in 5 days. This might mean that the points you see have actually dropped if the last time you looked your points were previously boosted (previous case above). In this case you may feel ripped off because you think you lost points.
Either way, the skill will train in 5 days. I have done a lot of testing on this and am 100% sure this is what is happening to me. So in my opinion, it is simply cosmetic.
I also know the actual formula used to generate training times and have verified it down to the second. If anyone is interested I could post that as well. All I can say is at least for me, I have lost no points. I'm pretty anal about checking every last point too since the bug showed up. |
