Here is a solid 0.0 ratting setup.
Hi Slots 6 x Tach I's, 2x Named Siege Launcher (Radio, Std. , UV, Multi)
Mids 4x Cap Recharger
Lo 1x RCU II 1x Cap Relay 2x Named Hardener Dmg. Type I 2x Named Hardener Dmg. Type II 1x Larger Armor Rep II
Med. drones for frig protection
You won't get the fastest take down with this setup, however you can comfortably tank 3x1.2 mil bs rats + their entourage.
The use of the multis or the UV's + the rep on will eventually run the ship out of cap. anything higher than UV is an always on setup.
For better mileage replace the hardners with their tech II cousins. Also the use of 3x cap recharger II's can gain a mid slot, or use 4 of them and replace the lo relay with something else. Using a centus rep. you can comfortably tank up to 5x BS.
This also a really low maint. setup. All you need to carry are some crystals and torps. You can spend hours out ratting without needing to go back to base.

Very nice guide, tho the microwave crystal does + 40% range, not -40.

In days past, only those in high favor with the Emperor could hope to earn the reward of commanding one of the majestic and powerful Apocalypse class battleships. In latter years, these golden, metallic monstrosities are usual choice of macrominers in deep hidden pockets of amarr space.
-------- The BoB model is bad for business. Incidently the BoB model is more suited for a game such as WoW where as the ASCN model more suited for Eve.

If you want a tank, tachyons aren't always the best gun to use.
For example, the tachyon does around 30% more DPS than the dual heavy beam.
Now, you can replace your six tachyons with eight dual heavy beams and still have enough grid left over to replace your RCUs with heat sinks.
This should increase your damage output considerably, although you will lose out on some range.

Setup I use to NPC against Blood Raiders goes like this (actual items in brackets) -
8 x Mega Pulse. (Mega Modulated Pulse Energy Beam I)
1 x Afterburner. (Lif Fuelled I Booster Rockets) 3 x Cap Recharger. (Euetic I Capacitor Charge Array)
1 x Rep. (Large Armor Repairer II) 1 x Eanm (Dark Blood) 1 x Energised Thermic Plate (Dark Blood) 1 x Thermal Hardener (Armor Thermic Hardener II) 1 x EM Hardener (Dark Blood) 2 x Heat Sink (Dark Blood and T2)
5 x Hammerhead II
Simply warp to belt, slowboat to 15-20km, zap the crap out of rats, burst rep when required. Alt follows behind scooping loot and salvage.
All fits with no sweat even with fully T2 meds and lows. Building rigs at the moment to slot on it so they will be two cap recharger and one heat sink equivelent (no problem as plenty PG left).

Microwave crystals give +40% range not -40%

I use 1400s. They work much better against Angel rats IMO (would probably use lasers if I wasn't in Minmatar space). With projectiles I can drop a CPR II and replace it with a tracking computer. Right or wrong, here's my setup:
5 x 1400mm 'Scout' (Fusion), 2 x Siege, 1 x Salvager 'money maker' (swap to 5 autocannons and a NOS for PvP) 1 x 100MN AB II, 1 x Tracking Comp II, 2 x CPR II (Swap 1 CPR to webber for PvP) 1 x DMG Cont II, 1 Each x EXP/THRM/KIN Hard II, 1 x Gyro II, 1 x LAR II
Drones: Exp or Kin dmg type. (I've had better results with 3 large vs 5 medium)
This setup is specifically for Angel Cartel. I encounter Guristas on occassion and just switch ammo and missile types to Thermal (gotta love projectile turrets). Lasers should work better for all other rats.

Having just purchased an Apoc, this guide has been most beneficial, so thankyou Jim for taking the time and effort to put it together.

i just buy new shiny apoc for pvp. This is my idea to fit it:
hi: 3 x heavy cap neutralizer 5 x 800mm scout autocannon med: web, scrambler, 2 x cap injector 800 charges low: 2 x LARII, 1 x 1600 tungsten, 1 gyro, 3 x EANM or resistance platings if cpu and grid cannot handle this.
2 ccc rigs 1 rig for armor - maybe thermal resistance...
any ideas to improve this setup?
it will be used to pirate hunt in low sec with bite :)
