Greetings,
I just upgraded my strip miners on my retiever to modulater strip miners II. Now i'm having problems at cycle time. I'm already stagering them by 30 seconds or so, but over time (popping roids for example) the get close to each other again and one will fail do to no cpu. I noticed that the strip miners require 90 energy units for activation costs. Strip II's require 120.
Now what skills should I get to help this. So far I'm thinking:
Electronics - 5% Bonus to CPU output per skill level Energy Management - 5% Bonus to capacitor capacity Energy System Operation - 5% Bonus to capacitor recharge rate per level Engineering - 5% Bonus to capacitor recharge rate per level
Now, how about these - they are gunnery skills, but do mining lasers fall under this catagory or not?
Controlled Bursts - 5% per level reduction in capacitor need of Weapon turrets Weapon Upgrades - Reduces the CPU need of turrets, launchers and smartbombs by 5% per level of skill
I'm a miner that does the occasional mission to increase my standings.
Thanks,

first CPU is NOT Cap
you want better cap skills:
Energy Management - 5% Bonus to capacitor capacity Energy System Operation - 5% Bonus to capacitor recharge rate per level
for you in a retriever only those 2 are relevant (engineering gives +5% Powergrid not cap recharge)
you can also fit a cap recharger in your med slot, t1 or named one is good enough

Great,
Thanks. I also forgot about cap rechargers.

Will a capicitor battery not be better than a cap recharger? Since it has 3 minutes to regain the cap back. Maybe you could try that?

have you taken into consideration the cap use reduction of certain mining crystals used in the modulated strip II's

Yep, didn't notice the cyrstals required power either.
Well, I went out and got a good cap recharger and that solved all my problems right away. I lost the use of my roid scanner, but oh well.
I still need to cycle my lasers, but now it's because I'm out of cargo room and not power.
Thanks for the help everyone.
