I am still pretty new on the POS system and am learning everyhting i can from the guides and spreadsheets that are here on the forums but i have a question about logistics that hasn't been covered in the stuff i have been reading.
As a small mining corp we have access to 0.0 through some friends we have met in an alliance controled section of 0.0, the nearest station is 10 jumps away form where we are wanting to mine and its hostile as hell half the time. To avoid having to make 100 trips a night threw crazy infested space we would like to be able to put up a POS (we have permission of course) with nothing more on it than a hangar, maintance, refineing, and control tower. We only need to feed it for about 7 days to start and after that the whole thing is coming down and being packed back up for transport to empire. My question for all you POS guru's is how many haulers/cargo room is it going to take to get all the fuel to a POS for a 7 days?

about 5000m3 rings a bell, but its been absolutely ages since i ran a POS.

There are some fuel calculators out there, let me find one that does the cargo space calculation. --

There are plenty of references and calculators out there. Or you can do what I did and make a excel sheet. Its really simple. Just calculate how much "fuel" your POS uses per hour, multiple that to equal 7 days worth and use that total units with the exact m3 of each unit. Boom you got yourself an exact m3 grand total.

now im no pos expert but i've been doing calculation myself
to run a small pos for a week you'll need about 12k m3 of the various fuels the pos is 2k m3, the refining array is 4k m3 maintenance array = 8k m3 hangar = 4m3 lets say 2 med gun and 2 small = 3k m3
so that's a total of 33k m3 to haul. 3 haulers should be able to do that.
i could be a bit off since i've never done it but that's a rough estimate for a small tower

A small Caldari tower holds 12,300m3, which is about the amount for 7 days of all the fuels needed to run at full power draw and with enough strontium to run reinforced mode for a few hours.
Sorry for shouting, but CCP stopped taking my phone calls.

You guys are beyond awsome. This is one of the reasons eve is so popular and such a great game to be a part of. The community is everything .
I am pretty sure with the 2 Iteron 5's packeing a cargo hold of 44k combined and my Badger 2 sitting at 12k cargo we should be able to do this. Does anyone have an suggestions on the best set up for the type of thing we are wanting to do? I am not too concerned about it comeing under attack so the guns are not needed but would be be better going with a small or a med or a large for that matter? We don't know alot about POS's so its a learn as you go type thing for us. Once it is up and running how hard is it to take down and pack back up for transport somewhere else? Any advice or council on the matter would be of great help.
<--- Carebear smiley, i love it!

Your going to need a large tower.. no question.
Once you see the cpu required to run JUST the intense refiner array that will become clear.
Also don't forget to calculate the fuel you will comsume while that refiner is online.. it's pretty steep. You don't need to have it online for the full 7 days.. just as you use it. It has a 3 hour cycle time and you can only place ONE type of ore in it at a time. Read the above carefully... and plan for it. It's where most of your "issues" are going to come from. Your probably going to want 2 or 3 corp storage arrays for just that reason... or be very selective of what you mine.
As for taking the PoS down.. just keep min mind that it will take you exactly twice as much time to take it down as it did to put it up. It's not too bad.. but that reactor takes an hour to online.. an hour to anchor and 2 hours to un-anchor.. so remmeber that.
Don't let me sound negative.. what you are planning is a very good way to do what your trying to do.. There are just a few learning tips that you will figure out as you do it.. I've covered most of them.
