FINALY. Someone dealt with those pesky bots. Thanks CCP (it was about time). We can actually TRADE on Jita local again with only few blocks (instead of hundreds of new blocks every day).
Just one question. Is this considered as a bot?

Bots will always return so enjoy the bliss now. People can beg CCP to hire a police force for channels, but that would be too much to monitor trade local chats.
It won't change. You'll always have a auto-bot or scammer via local or other channels so the problem is solved: use your common sense.

Did you consider that those bans can be automated? You just make statistic like chribba did and auto ban every player who posts (for example) 1000+ same message per day.

I'm tempted to make the pilgrimage to Jita just to experience this,even though my nearest character is 15 or 20 jumps away.
I'm closer to Amarr so I ask this; is this ban in all the major trade hubs or just Jita?

2) Ban bots after each 1-2 months when they already used PLEX to keep their acounts active.
3) Check where the money from their scams went to

Just had a peek in Jita, and the local chat is still very manageable! Some spammers have returned, but it's a far cry from the old days,w here spam obliterated any form of chat.
Hope this keeps up, and that CCP will look at other tradehubs as well to adress the issues there. It's not on level of old Jita, but hey the less bots the better isn't it?

Temp fix. It's been done before, and in a few weeks it will be back to Jita normal. And you'll have to block a whole new set of bots.
If they actually stayed up with it, instead if having a purge every few years, it might be more useful.
CCP, trading shiny pictures for playability since 2003..
EvE, a cutting edge game. The only game to provide Matrix style gameplay for the masses! (trouble is, most people don't have 9 hours to waste on a one hour fight.) |

Jita local's much better now. People can actually discuss things. They LOL at the scam spams. Scammers verbally defend their scams. And have discussions back and forth with their alt ringers. It's a new dimension in the craft of scamming (even though people are still pretty crap-poor at it still). |
