Edited by: agrizla on 01/09/2003 23:47:49 Are we going to see conflict throughout Empire space as multiple corps go after TTI and their suppliers (and presumably vice-versa)? Or is it going to fizzle out like all the other "conflicts" have so far?
Damn it - why couldn't you lot have done this a month ago? Now I dunno whether to resub or not I had my mind made up that I was leaving but this opens up a world of possibilities for freelancers*
/me sits back to watch the next week to see what happens
*Even with the ****-poor servers/network and overworked GM's it may be worth carrying on

Do it Agrizla ... add TTI to your war list and join the conflict. Just wait and see.

Edited by: agrizla on 02/09/2003 00:09:06 Edited by: agrizla on 02/09/2003 00:07:52 Jade - I could add anyone I wanted to my KOS list but that's not the point.
All of the "conflicts" so far in Eve have turned out to be mainly people talking smack in local. Corp war so far hasn't worked at all as people get bored with it (as the PvP system isn't exactly brilliant). So all the corp wars fizzle out within a week or so. Most are still active, but the protagonists just agree to ignore each other.
This one has the potential to work as sacrificial alts will be striking into Empire space to take out supply "lines". This sort of warfare can work as people aren't forced to risk their best ships. Will it? Who knows, but Eve badly needs a big war. The market needs it, manufacturers need it, hell just about everyone needs it. It may come as an unpleasant shock to some of the AFK miners or the "downtime traders" <spit>, but they too should be able to figure out that an alt in a frigate costs very little. From that point it all escalates.
We need some chaos. We don't have a big enough playerbase to make most of the structures in Eve work, so we need serious asset losses across the board (IMHO of course).

I suppose we can judge more once the aforementioned events unfold.
However at this time I've heard of a few scattered battles. Nonetheless Joan of Arc are statements are just that without the action.
But it is rather exciting to see new developments in the game. Today has been by far one of the better days playing eve, that's what keeps us in the game. Right?

Ok so who do we reckon's going to win this?
a) TTI + co. (odds... 10:1 against) b) The Rest of The Universe (odds... 9.5:1 against) c) Node Failure + Server Down (odds... 5:1 against) d) CTD (odds... 3:1 against)
Also accepting longshot bets on Stavros (2001:OMGOMGOMG!!! WTF!! PWNED!!!)

Ok, well, at first Stavr0s is gonna be winning, but then a CTD will hit him, and just as he'll be getting back up, a Node Failure + Server Down will mop up and take the victory... ----------------------------- You think Marco Polo said "Damn Mongolians were camping that cave entry into the next valley the entire day, you can't get friggin anywhere in the world with those damn griefer tribes all over the place" ? -Indigo Seqi

Yes mate, but you don't keep paying to see the same film time and time and time again do you? A nice little pan-galactic conflict would be fun

True enough. I must say, I find the rhetoric being used to be very amusing.
My group is quite far from where the blows will fall, even if it does trek into Empire space. If they fall at all. My concern is some half*****ed halfwit doing something stupid, like shooting one of my corp members.
Still, it is interesting. Moreso as I want to see the effects this will have on the economy. I may have to reprice my cruise missiles, tachyon beams, mega beams, heavy beams and such. Or, if the patch arrives soon enough, start looking into produce more than personal use projectiles

I dunno, when I was a nipper, I saw Back to the Future about 6 times a the cinema.
I can't imagine the number of times I could watch Lord of the Rings in the cinema, if it was still showing (I hope our local runs a back-to-back trilogy sometime next year (with pizza and whiskey breaks, of course)
I think you should stay, agrizla. If not for the fighting, then for the... something else. .

Heh it's not so much the fighting mate, it's the feeling that something player-driven might actually happen which impacts a majority of the server population. Of course with the demise of The Scope, the chances of people actually finding out why someone just blew their indy up is minimal
Funny thing is that I'm actually in The Scope as it was the default corp for the area when I quit my first (and only) PC corp

The whole TTI thing has been going on for quite some time, and (if anything) just keeps heating up more and more.
