Edited by: Salmon Day on 16/02/2006 12:57:47 Im a 2 day old noob, busy killing rats and following agent missions in Caldari Space, Isaziwa(or something like that), ive got a merlin and some skills trained up and have been falling asleep killing the mission rats. Can anyone help me and tell me Where can i go to a complex?, do i have to speak to someone to get inside? or point me to a link that provides the answers.

As a 2 day old character, You'll struggle in a complex on your own... even with lots of skills you'll struggle even in a 1/10 complex in a merlin
there are lists around - I use these excellent 2d maps which shows compplexes

My Bad. Im going blind in my old age, i am actually 4 days old :). Ive been taking up to 8 npc rats in .7 space at a time without losing my shield(i feel quite accomplished:P)
I spent loads on buying skill books at the start cause those 2s and 3 percentages add up and now dont find what im doing very interesting.
But thanks for the info. My storyline guide says to go to Cosmos so ill wait a few days , et a well equiped destroyer and go exploring.

If you want tougher npcs try npcing in 0.6's and 0.5's. The npcs there get noticably tougher.
Heck if you arent too worried about dieing early on you can take your chances and try some npcs in low sec. Be warned though, you need to be wary of player pirates as well as npcs in the belts/gates in low sec.

There is no such thing as an instanced complex.

Yeah, these are definitly not instanced in any way. If there is a key to each following stage you may be able to keep people out, but many of us horde spare keys for when the end bosses are up and the keys are not.
If the system is 0.4 or below, and you are in the way of a player who wants the end boss, be prepared to get blown up. People are crazy for thier complex loots. ---------

To give you a general idea of the degree of difficulty -- I have a less than a week-old character and she poked her nose into a 1/10 Gurista complex in a Condor. Had zero problems during the first two stages (bunch of weak frigs), got overconfident and died at the third stage under the crossfire of multiple NPC cruisers.
So she bought a Kestrel, loaded it up with rockets, and went to try again. Again, the first two stages die easily, but at the third stage you have to pull cruisers one by one and they come with an escort of frigates. The Kestrel killed two cruisers (once you get to point-blank range they have big problems hitting you and you just unload the rockets into them), but with the third one couldn't manage the cap properly and was stuck at range without juice for the afterburner. Had to warp out at 5% armor :-)

Complexes can be played in groups as well. I suppose that's what they're mainly for. You can build yourself up to take a complex solo or you can buddy up to make things easier and split loot. Most 1/10s ive found are easy for a newbie with a week or so of skills. A few have those cruisers or heavy combat drones so those need a destroyer or a group of low-level buddies to play with.

"Don't say that word!" "What word?!" "I cannot say, suffice to say it is a word that the Sister's of Eve cannot hear" I thought since this game is called Eve that I'd play a female character. Is that a good enough excuse for a guy? |
