How come that some people can anchor their container in a 1.0 system while others cant??

Edited by: Kery Nysell on 16/02/2006 13:30:59 Those were anchored before the patch that made it impossible to anchor cans in 1.0 and 0.9. At least I think it was a patch, I started after that modification (november 2004).
I think a lot of those cans belong to characters that don't play anymore ...

The devs said they were going to remove the cans after a time giving people a chance to clear stuff out. Sadly its over a year later and the cans STILL havn't been moved.

Perhaps if a lot of these containers were taken out of the game there would be a chance that this next set of hardware that is being fired up next week will last more than a few months?
I have a few secure cans anchored in space ...unforunatly I am unable to get to them now and would quite happily let them dissapear if I had the option. Especially if it means I can play for an evening without lag.
I know nothing about how this sort of thing works but im sure the thousands of objects just sit idle in systems cant be helping the general situation. I have seen numerous threads regarding this and still not a mention on whether we can expect a change to the current situation

i know if secure cans were deployed/archored on behalf of a corp, they are listed as known assets and their location recorded. I am unsure if the same applies to personal anchored cans. They shoudl introduce a means to allow u to trash them from your assets list.

better yet give all secure cans a remote destruct option from somewhere in your assets tab . perhaps a new tab called anchored possesions or something of that nature.
and vola in a few short mouse clicks poof there goes a can

corp thieves would have a field day if they got director status...
