this is a space game isn't it ?
so where is the real exploring aspect ?
sure - u get some agent missions where you have to probe this or deliver that - but the isk rewards are crummy and if you're not currently working for one of those agents - you dont get the offer
this game has lots of graphics and special stuff that most people never get to see. So how about a skillpoint bonus for those that travel to the furthest reaches and see some of the most exotic sites the game has to offer ?

Exploring will be featured more in kali (I think) where you will get the chance of finding complexes/spawns. Not great I know, but it's a starter.
As for SP gained through actually doing something....don't think that's ever gonna happen.
Also there are things to explore in space, you just need a MWD, good scanner skills and patients.

How about just creating a new mission type, 'Recon' where you are given the task to 'scan' a system in the local vicinity of the moons/planets/asteroid fields in the system.

No grinding please.
But then again.. Exploring missions that send you to really dangerous places just to visit certain spots and do new things.. It could be fun too, if you added some extra elements.
You could also move people away from the clogged empire with some incentives while at it. Combine things.
