So I was wondering before i wasted 5 mil on purchasing t2 ammo whether or not people have seen a noticable difference in the ammo. And is it really worth spending as much isk on it as they cost. I want all types of t2 ammo posted here and what types you like for what weapons, im curious to know it all since everybody can benefit from it. Thanks for any replies.

Definately worth it. The penalties aren't that much of an issue. For example,
I use 425mm IIs with iron and get like 140km range. I hit for pretty pathetic damage at the range, around 50-150 each shot. With Javelin loaded, i get the same range but hits from like 150-300.
At that range, speed doesn't matter so the max velocity penatly is negated, shield HP doesnt matter as the megathron armor tanks and if you take considerable amounts of damage you should get the heck out. Tracking is...well if you're shooting another sniping BS, he's doing the samething as you, so again not really an issue.
Void ammo for blasters also pwns. No questions asked.

So I broke down and bought some t2 ammo. I equiped a enyo with 4 t2small neutron blasters and 1 mag stab2 and void s t2 ammo.........the results were amazing after 20 shots on a buddys BS i was hitting well over 100 a shot. out of 20 shots 2 fell short of 100. 1 was 94 and the other was 54. I thern switched to AM ammo and after 20 shots only 5 were whitting over 100. I would highly recommend this ammo, only drawback is you have to be damn close to make it effective, but heck the damage it does is incredible.
If anybody else has any other t2 ammo they would like to share speak up, so i know what to work for next. :)

Void sucks, thatone is too much penalized, Null owns, about the same as antimatter with no penalties, range bonus, falloff bonus

T2 ammo just like everything else T2, its specialized and isnt an all-around-use. -=-

Yeh i tried null to, but as a preference i like the damage void does, and i dont really see to much of a decrease in range from using AM ammo and i still hit the target. Im a ship hugger so thats why i like void. But null is very nice too i still hit very hard using that as well. :) keep em coming, have yet to hear bout t2 missles and such.

What I hate is that Javelin ammo (well, atleast small) reduces shields.
FFS. We Caldari use rails and we usually have large shields.
Spike S is nice tho. Frigate size t2 missiles suck.

i believe t2 precision and the pulse high dmg crystals are incredibly powerful.
the conflag crystals are amazing even without dmg mods they hit for crazy dmg.
tracking penalty isnt that bad, anything smaller than a cruiser is hard to hit but then thats what drones are for. --------------------------------------------------------

every race has 2 types of weapons with both long range and short range ammo. pulses/beams, AC/Arty, Rails/Blasters, Torps/Cruises
all races short range ammo for both short and long range guns are capable of doing atleast the same dmg as the tech1 variant versus a ship the same size, except.....Caldari
Caldari Rage torps hit for jack *BLEEP* on anything less then a planet. i think that is kinda sucky for the ones driving ravens imho. sure they can tank but they dont do more dmg with T2 Torps to another BS then they did with Tech1 Torps. im glad i fly mainly amarr though

Edited by: Yarek Balear on 16/02/2006 22:22:47 Tried Null S in the Taranis tonight and was pretty impressed with it. Was getting some damn nice hits and the falloff bonus etc is excellent - 2.2k Optimal, 2.8k falloff...
Used Void M in my Deimos and was getting stupidly high hits... First trial against an NPC gave me a wrecking shot of 638 !
Edit: Oh, and the Void M worked nicely in PVP too...

Edited by: dazedandconfused on 16/02/2006 22:41:28 Have used medium pulse crystals, well worth it for pvp anyways.
Edit: They're great for everything, thought with the cost it might be best if used solely for pvp. That is what I meant.

IMHO, general consensus is:
Turret long range ammo = good Turret high damage ammo = not that good
Precision/javelin type missiles = raging from ok to overpowered Rage/fury type missiles = too specialized. Rage torps should be renamed to anti-capital/structure.
The specifics: Hail has too much penalties; Quake is good for anti-POS work but it still sucks a bit. Dunno about the rest. ----------------

regarding autocannons, hail has far too many penalties, barrage has none and is uber

I think heavy damage rail ammo is a misunderstanding. It totally breaks Caldari tank. It should have penalty changed. Long range railgun ammo is nice.

the "dunno about the rest" was realy to the rest of the sucky ammos.
...better change the topic.
However it's universally known that Barrage rocks, Tremor rocks, Null rocks, Spike rocks and Precisions/javelins are a step backwards about the nissile nerf 6 months, or so, ago (overpowered). ----------------

I wouldn't use tech 2 ammo against rats... having said that, either blaster ammo would do ok. Neither railgun ammo will do very well against rats though.

I haven't used anything but lasers, but I can say conflagration is ridiculously damaging and scorch is very very nice (greate range and tracking). PvPing I'd use t2 ammo. NPCing t1 is more than good enough and much cheaper. ---------------------------------- "There's no +6 Sword of WTFPWN in Eve." - Er... Some person on the forum... |

I know, it's absolutely ******* amazing. I engaged a caracal, expecting to have a long fight. Nope. Wrecking hits over 160 damage, it just fell to pieces under my guns. ---- I like pie.

Hey hey,
Quake - Hate it with a passion but when and IF it hits it certainly makes a dent.
Tremor - Worked well but still prefer Fusion and got better results
Barrage - yummy
Fury Cruise - yummy but closer range cruise missile ? gimped range didnt make sense to me
Precision Cruise - YUMMY YUMMY - no difference against BS's but better against cruisers and alot better against Friggies. speed penatly was awfull but only 2 cruise launchers wasnt much of a problem. and can be easily compensated for by switching out the TII missiles as needed
Wheres my TII BPO. [CCP insert here}

Edited by: Wild Rho on 18/02/2006 13:16:28 I love the aurora s ammo for my frigs. It gives me an optimal further than my ships locking range while giving me the damage.
On a retribution with 4 dual light beams, 1 sensor booster, some heat sinks and tracking mods I can really give inty pilots a real brown trousers moment.
