I'm currently working a lev 3 agent trying to get my standing high enough to go for the lev 4 agent. I am almost there - and have been working towards hitting the right stauts at the same time as hitting 15000 lp to try and get the Skill Books.
Last night I hit 15000, and was close to the correct standing towards the Lev 4 agent. Today I got an offer for a Republican Fleet Firetail in exchange for 50m isk and 10000 lp. Should I hold on for a better 15000 lp offer or is this worth accepting in the hope that I get another decent offer by the time I hit the correct standing for Lev 4 Agent?

I got a skill book from my lvl 2 agent for 10mil + 15K LP - i sold it for 85mil 
My corp m8 got offered a Armar Navy Slicer (something like that ) and his agent wanted 90mil and +15K LP whihc is a profit of about 3 isk!!
So i'd wait - the skill book are much more profitable at the moment

Even if you dont strike it lucky and get a book, youll get a +3 implant offer, which COULD fetch up to 50 million if its willpower. Or alternatively it will increase your attributes.

I myself would definitely wait unless you've always wanted that ship.
At 15k you have the +3 implant offer or a skillbook to hopefully get. Both will fetch you good isk.
The general rule of thumb is to flip your lp every 15000lp for implants or books unless you're interested in the faction BS at 200k.

Implant offers are fairly common, so definitely worth waiting on. Waiting on a skillbook offer I have given up on, last time I tried I got 8 offers from that agent w/o skillbook, ended up taking an implant I could have had much earlier.

Also, if you're really desperate to get the connections skillbook just flip the 15k lp and sell the implants until you have the isk for the skillbook.
Might be easier.
