i looking around in escrow for some bpc, and there this escrow saying, buy this ammo and win a i-pod. the ammo going for a million, but who think this is really going to work? |

I'd be tempted to report that as buying ISK for real-life goods, whether it's a scam attempt or no. I certainly wouldn't trust it to work.
Lots of ppl seem to want me to do XYZ these days to have a chance to win an i-pod. If I wanted one that badly I'd buy the damn thing.

Without even reading the post I can say, Yes there is a new scam going on in escrow, there is always a new scam going on in escrow.
However when it comes to the "buy some ammo win an iPod" thingie... its probably a RP player wanting to spice upp his add and get a sale to some rich person who finds his posting amusing...
Kind of like the post that I read a few days ago when it turned out some person had copied the nigeria letters scam and applied it to EvE, if the scam is fun enough and obvious enough some people will still pay for the laugh.

dam right you could win an i-pod, when you claim the escrow and have to go get it 50 jumps in 0.0 to get it, i am sure i-will-pod you, or someone else will pod you :P

Considering that there is no way to tell who claimed an escrow (or what actually was inside - ask a random reseller and he will whine about that for 2-3h ;) ) afterwards, it was a nice joke. Especially since 1m is nothing worth bothering with.

not exactly a scam but the best joke escrow i saw a few days ago was "Build your very own colony" for 800k which consisted of 10 exotic dancers 10 marines and 10 livestock
