And people wonder why the hatred surrounding TTI? Up till fifteen minutes ago I had absolutely no out of game issue with TTI whatsoever. In-game I hate their guts as Jade for what they have done. Out of Game? I don’t know the guys, they were just players … a bit cooky maybe on the red-in-tooth and claw Rand stuff, but hey, none of my business right? Yes, that’s what I thought to. And then this is posted in the midst of a roleplayed discussion on the TTI war;

Background to this is that I have negotiated with Ctaesis in IRC on in-game issues, and I imagine he has used my ip and irc details to discover another of my nic profiles while searching around for dirt and blackmail material.
Now I don’t know about you chaps, but I don’t think what I might or might not get up to out of game is valid leverage material for what was hitherto an entirely in-game dispute.
So I’ve got a penchant for BDSM? Whatever, I’m as bold as brass and not ashamed of anything I do.
What concerns me here is that Ctaesis thinks its appropriate to bring something like that up in a game forum. And hypocrisy is breathtaking … I remember reading about Ragnar threatening to sue because someone copied and pasted from a forum that included pictures of his kids and family.
Well Ragnar, one of your guys has just tried to wreck my credibility with the player base by revealing I like handcuffs and whips on the weekend!
WTF is your game sonny-jim?
This is a game and out-of-game blackmail threats have no place in the game world. What next? Are you going to threaten to reveal that X corp’s CEO is secretly ***, or Y corp’s defence minister is having an affair with the woman next door? You have gone way too way too far.

Jade....being slagged off by some pimply kid who has no life except to sit in his bedroom all day is ridiculous.
I have much more respect for the older players who manage to hold down jobs, bring up families, look after and repair the house, cut the grass AND manage to fit EVE in somehow etc etc than I ever will for some underhanded little mommies boy.
BTW...what's wrong with BDSM?? He seems to think we'll all gasp and blush and never dare to mention your name again except in a hushed whisper?

If i remember well it's the second time this happens.
Some history regarding a known publication (MDW) and some RL threat received by his main editor.
And if i do recall right it also was from a well known big corp in EVE. (I henceforth refuse to write down these three letter acronim from now on... it just makes me sick)
If i were CCP community rep, i would do some homework, and see if it's possible to stop this whole bull*** before it goes out of hand.
Read: Ban the harrassers.
Would this be too much to ask?

that is not only a reprehensible thing to do... but it borders on "Felony Stalking". To go and retrieve someone personal info unless authorized is illegal.. period. It raises HUGE security concerns for our Online experience and should NOT be tolerated. If players put forth any info on myself without permission I'd be looking at legal action. This is shameful TTI... control your dogs or disband and do the world a favour, you have shown cowardice, bad faith and just about every negative aspect of a player run corp. OH and by the way.. I'm 41, take too much Viagra and snore.. if you want any more info Evemail me and I'll tell you.. don't you dare try to sniff personal info out from unauthorized sources....

To acctualy go and "snoop" out irl information and using it to slanter and try to diminish a character is just very VERY bad form!!
As for Jades tastes in weekend jewelry: Its none of my buisness tbQFh!

Assuming the intent was indeed blackmail or even slander then I denounce you and cast you down from... ummmm... where it is I am at the time.
However, on the other side of things I'd love to know how you found all that out cause it would certainly help in my dating searchs.

Don't get me wrong; personally I couldn't care less. But I think its potentially possible that some people playing a game might have personal information they do not feel is appropriate for in-game poltical leverage. I just wanted to raise this as a matter of principle and hoped to shame the perpetrator into never doing it again.

I've been following the TTI posts all day....
I think that what has happened to Jade is an absolute disgrace, if I were you I'd try and get a rt on the posters IP address and immedatly post to the ISP regarding this!
As I've mentioned before someone has got upset and thrown the toys out of the pram.
I'm yet to see an offical response to the petiton post and this latest remark should have CCP highest interest and at least someone posting saying, 'Ok, we've read this and will be in touch soon'
Typical, oh, btw I'm 30 and at the weekend I like nothing better then to sit in my pants drinking beer and watching the footy! - and I'm keeping what else I do all nice and clean....

First I have to say that this was just unacceptable, especially if the information was not freely given in the first place.
However, from what Jade has said, it cannot be called slander. I do however, feel that what is in effect a real life encroachment merits a real life response, from CCP at the very least.
I may not agree with Jade's spin on the Venal situation, but I knew we had something in common.

If CCP wont treat those guys who reveal personal information of other players and in that case the Real Life Person and his account that goes by the name "Ctaesis" in the Eve-Online game as a possible individual that is planing on doing something unlawfull in another Real Life person who is active in this online game too, and that is baning his acount to prohibit future situations like this, then the real Life law should and can do something about it.
The harrased individuals should contact a legal advisor, and if similar pettitions arise and if present or past harrasments from same individuals surface, (which is posible) then a proper attorney, probaly one stationed in London for convenience, should be handed these harassment pettitions, and demand, according to the British or the International law, plus all the relevant sections that govern personal rights on the internet, from CCP to help in an investigation on revealing account information to the repsonsible authorities in the terms of preventing future unlawfull actions and harasment towards the person whom his personal information is being revealed online from certain EVE Online members.
These people should be treated as possible future offenders and labeled as persons with psychological disorders, either CCP or the law must take action.

CCP chaps have responded and responded fast. I am entirely satisfied and would like to thank GM Guard and Orestes for sorting the situation promptly and properly. I hope this will send a positive message rotters who might want to employ this kind of low tactic to destroy in-game credibility.
A very healthy community response all round.

Hmmmm, I'm going to swim against the tide here...
1. Have no respect for Ctaesis, trawl back through the patch review forum and you'll find how he deals with getting a petition answered. Add past behaviour like that and Ctaesis has clearly earned a perma-ban on this one. No ifs or buts.
2. Right, this is where things get controversial :-) I don't see any link between TTi and the personal attack made by Ctaesis. In fact I doubt that any of TTi would have anything to do with it - and I include the loopy Ragnar in that until I hear otherwise.
