It makes whatever on Jove mining-foreman-link modules do, do it twice as well.
And the inevitable next question, no, I don't know what mining-foreman-link modules do. ________________________________________________

Edited by: Dawn Verragan on 18/02/2006 12:38:33 Edited by: Dawn Verragan on 18/02/2006 12:37:56 It's related to the Mining Foreman gang assist modules (look into the market for more details). They give +2% on drone yield, ice yield or crystal-based yield. As you may have guessed by now, the Mining Director skill makes those modules more effective.
The modules can only be used on ships with gang assist module bonus, though. Thus you'd have some sort of "overseer" with those bonuses flying around with the miners to get more ore/ice.

those modules should have been able to fit in (or atleast on 1) T2 barges as well imo... strange ccp decided otherwise.

not when it requires mining foreman 5. if mining director could be trained from the start it would be good, but when you need to train 25 days on a charisma based skill only to be able to learn that skill, then is a pain in the ***

Since when does a Manager do the Worker's job?

25 days for promotion from Foreman to Manager. Doesn't seem long in my opinion.
Or maybe we should have all skills at lvl 5 from day 1 of character's life?
I think not.

i wouldnt mind training that long if i could fit this module on my covetor, or even on a hulk, but i think it is pointless to train so much to only be able to use it on BC, even more when i can train mining foreman V on my mining char (which is the char that is always on the mining op, not like the BC char) and get some bonus even when flying the barge

Putting it on a barge would probably be the most stupid thing you can do, Gang assist modules are high slot items, so you'd say goodbye to a strip miner.

From my point of view it's kind of backwards.
Who is the mostly likely to train Mining Forman - an ubber miner. this way they always get the most out the barges - they can gang anyone in the belt from the smallest frig on up.
Who can not use the ubber mining skills and Mining Director at the same time? - the ubber miner.
Now you need someone capable of flying a BC or Command Ship - both of which take a long time to train for and most likely are PvP players. How hard would it be to get a PvP player to stop PvPing to sit in a ship for a couple of hours and do nothing? Plus, getting them to learn Mining Forman to level V and the Mining Directory, purchase the modules, etc?
Logically, it just does not make sense for me.
Suren.

It doesn't make sense because you dont get it An uber miner shouldn't give a crap about mining foreman skills. These skills/modules are for someone who wants to be an uber mining foreman They are two different jobs that require different ships and different skills. Somebody already mentioned that the gang assist modules are hislot and theres no way in hell you'd want to trade your strip miner for this module.
So there are two jobs here. A Miner and a Mining Foreman...and one person should not be able to do both jobs at the same time. So this mining foreman stuff would be VERY effective if you were in a large mining op with a lot of barges.
Why don't we do something constructive like figure out how many covetors you'd need in your gang for all this to be worth it instead of cry about not having yet another thing that increases your yeild for mining solo?

It takes me 8 days 11 hours to take a rank 2 Charisma/willpower to 5 from 4. You must have like 4 charisma to make that 25 days!

Frigate 4, Cruiser 3, spaceship command 4, Battlecruiser 1. That doesn't take very long at all. Also, do the math on a Brutix with 6 miner 2s, or even better, MDCM2s. Its better than a medium barge.
