Kjewla	Posted - 2006.02.19 03:26:00 - [1] So we all know that the girls in Norway, Sweden and Denmark and ofc Iceland are good looking, heck we are even famous for it. So i was thinkig why is this? I have this theory about the girls but first alittle info about the Vikings; Around the year 800 the Vikings began to travel from their homes in Scandanavia.... from the countries we now call Norway, Sweden & Denmark. The word Viking is a collective designation of Nordic peoples, Danes, Swedes, Norwegians and Icelanders, who ranged abroad during a period of dynamic Scandinavian expansion in the Middle Ages, from about AD 800 to 1100. Called the Viking Age, the period has long been popularly associated with unbridled piracy, when freebooters came swarming out of the northlands in their predatory long ships to burn and pillage their way across civilized Europe. This, however, is now recognized as a gross simplification. Modern scholarship emphasizes the achievements of the Viking Age in terms of Scandinavian art and craftsmanship, marine technology, exploration, and the development of commerce, the Vikings as traders, not raiders. Extension of Viking Activities. The derivation of the word “Viking” is disputed. t may be from Old Norse vik (a bay or creek) or Old English wic (a fortified trade settlement). Not every Scandinavian, however, was a professional warrior or a Viking, and not every Viking was a pirate. The motive causes of Viking Age expansion are complex. Land shortage in Scandinavia, improved iron production, and the need for new markets probably all played a part. The first recorded Viking raid was a sea borne assault (793) by Norwegian marauders on the holy island of Lindisfarne, just off the northeastern coast of England. Growing evidence indicates, however, that considerable overseas Viking migration, west across the North Sea and east across the Baltic, occurred long before that. Swedish entrepreneurs penetrated the hinterland of Russia, pioneering new trade routes down the Volga and the Dnepr, founding city-states such as Kiev and Novgorod, and opening the way to Constantinople and the exotic markets of Arabia and the Far East. In Constantinople, Vikings formed the elite bodyguard of the Byzantine emperors, the feared and famous Varangian Guard. Danish warriors hammered at the cities of the crumbling Carolingian Empire, Hamburg, Dorestad, Rouen, Paris, Nantes, Bordeaux, until one of the armies in 911 accepted by treaty huge tracts of land in northern France (now known as Normandy, “Land of the Northmen”) and settled there. The Vikings were daring masters of the sea. Their swift wooden longships, equipped with both sails and oars, enabled them to mount piratical raids on the coastal monasteries and settlements of the British Isles, western Europe and beyond. The shallow draught of these ships meant that they were able to reach far inland by river and stream, striking and moving on before local forces could muster. Types of military engagement might range from small-scale family feuds or gang-raids to full-scale pitched battles. At the battle of Stiklestad in Norway, St Olaf and his army of some 3,600 warriors were defeated by a much larger force in 1030, and at Ashingdon, in Essex, the Danish king Cnut routed King Edmund in 1016. The largest armies may have consisted of 4,000 to 7,000 men. But they would generally have dispersed after a campaign and either returned to their lives as farmers, merchants or craftsmen, or joined up with other war-bands. So back to my theory, these vikings travel plunder, steal and board ships, in general some real nasty RL piracy. So look at Norway,Sweden and Denmark (we must not forget Iceland) When the vikings went abroad they also stole girls to take home to there home countrys bear in mind they never stole ugly girls.

And I'm not disputing his Viking history. I just don't that his theory, that Scandinavian girls are beautiful BECAUSE Vikings abducted beautiful women, is correct. I agree with the fact that Scandanavian girls are beautiful but I seriously disagree with the theory behind it. Japan has it's fair share of beautiful girls too but they had very little background of *****and pillage. There's also the problem with genetic markers. Scandanavian women are known for fair or blonde hair and blue eyes but at the time of the Vikings which came long before the Roman invasion, the Britons were Saxon with typically dark hair and brown eyes. Britons, have had genetic mix with blonde, blue eyed races and now the mixture of blonde/blue and dark/brown is almmost even. This would also have happened with the genetic markers in Scandanavian people from the mix with original Britons but it seems not to be the case. I therefore conclude that it is a normal trait of the Scandavian race. I also notice that cold climate seems to affect looks. Hot countries cause people to age quickly, Chinese consider 28 to be old and wrinkly and Chinese women do show their age rather fast. On the other hand, a 60 year old Eskimo woman can easily pass herself off as being in their mid 30's in the UK. We English people tend to show our age at around 40 but Scandanavians can still look good until their late 50's. Diet and attitude is another thing. Most European countries maintain a good diet, the English do not, mostly due to the cost of eating properly. Most English women tend to let themselves go after thier first child and start to blow out and stop trying to look good. In many of the other European countries, even 60 year old women can have figures that turn mens heads and legs that look like they were stolen from a 20 year old. Very few German women I have seen have let themselves go downhill and that also goes for Danish, Dutch and Scandanavian. It seems that, no matter what age, they still have a sense of self worth which the English women lack. -- My idea of an OS is one that Operates the System, not a complete package of every piece of software ever written. The Celts were typically dark haired, but the Saxons were typically blonde. Chronology = Britons (Celts), Romans, Romano British, Saxons/Angles, Vikings to-ing and fro-ing with the Saxons, Normans (Norman invasion is generaly considered the end of the British 'Dark Ages'. First of all, being poor does NOT mean you're stupid, that's very offensive and wrong. Second, where the hell do you get the idea that most of the immigrants were criminals? The very simple explanation as to why scandinavian girls are pretty is that many of go to the gym and don't let themselves grow fat. The entire "fat is beautiful" crowd is totally wrong. Also, many of the scandinavian (swedish at least) girls have (fake)blonde hair which to many blonde starved foreigners is pretty...I prefer brunettes myself.
