I've been playing this game for about 5 days now and have had:
People shooting me while mining - nothing happened I thought the police would help but they didn't so I warped
People stealing Ore - Annoying people with little to do and just steal peoples ores then transfer it accross.
Warp bug - I warp as I come out of a station and then I get stuck in a station, can't move have to log.
Stuck in Algorgille - Last night something happened to the server and my character was stuck in the system and I couldn't do anything (thanks to the GM that helped me
Now, my main rant:
HUGE CONTAINERS!!!!!!
When these work it will cut down on a LOT of people stealing ores because we will be able to use these to store our ores. I still consider myself a noob and having this bug fixed will stop a LOT of people getting annoyed with this game when they can't store ore well and some person comes and steals ores.
Why do I have to pay 30 pounds and a monthly subscription - it didn't say anything about there being bugs in the game when I bought it .
Argh, this game has an addictive edge to it I'll give it that, but the edge is slowly becomming rounded by the day and I don't know if it will be an edge anymore in 3 weeks time *HINT*
That container bug NEEEEDS fixing PLZ!!!

Call Ore Thief Killers.. thats what we do "Human Nature - If someone put a big red button in a remote mountain cave with a sign on it 'End of the world button!! Do not push!!.. the paint wouldn't have a chance to dry." |

from the FAQ about ore thieves:
"The bottom line is: If you use regular containers to store your ore you assume all the risk. Having your valuables floating in space in an unsecure container is equivelant to throwing money on the street. Should you lurk nearby and wait for someone to take the money and then attack him, the police would deal with you, not him. The same goes in Eve. If you attack a player who just took "your" ore from a regular container in a system with a security level of 0.5 or higher. You will be destroyed by Concord."
don't be lazy. If you are worried about ore thieves, use secure containers, hire guards, use your head.

I would, but that's the problem with big ones don't work ....
If I left the keys in my car door and someone took my car, it would be theft....
If I left my front door open and someone came into my house and took my PC it would be theft...
OK, insurance wouldn't pay up but it would still be treated as theft ...
I have had my cargo container violated, yes it isn't secure as would not the other examples be but it is still theft....
I know its my fault blah blah but if the huge secures worked in this game it wouldn't be a problem....

No problem m8 sorry too I don't mean to sound like I'm snapping at you .
When the bug is fixed we can all be happy and ore stealers will be out of a job ...
Until then it appears I will have to keep my eyes open for nasty people .

I actually dont think that the Giant containers will get fixed utill they can be anchored in space. Its such a big error to forget to put password ability on a secure container if it wasnt made on purpose.
clagnuts> im drunk just come back from pirates night in spain , wtf i thought it was some eve guys getting together for a drink , turned out to be a feken real pirates show , doh |

It didn't say anything about a bug free game either
Anyway the next patch is coming soon.

Where abouts are you NickPhil? Perhaps I can offer you some assistance in protecting you from those pesky ore thieves whilst you mine |

Edited by: PropanElgen on 03/09/2003 12:48:53 All who recover ore from jettisoned cans should go do that in Korama and surrounding systems to hurt the people mining for Roark/TTI.
Btw, are there any penalty at all for blowing up cans?

Done it fairly often myself, haven't seem to have angered anyone or anything so I'd say no.

Blowing up ore theives isn't hard, as long as your security rating can take the beating. Just blowing up their ship barely puts a dent in it...but "accidently" podding them with cruise missile splash damage hurts it a bit more.

Completely offtopic but... Wow, is this the most smiley populated thread ever?
Particularly good work by Nick Phil including a quote with smilies to boost his smiley count.

*No* *it* *isn't*. EVE doesn't operate by US law, or UK law, or any other law on Earth. It operates by EVE law, and under EVE law, once you jettison something from your ship, it belongs to nobody. If you think it should BE considered theft, campaign to have CCS introduce a security hit for taking out of a container with someone else's phizog on it. But unless, and until, that change is introduced, can scavenging is NOT theft.

Er, should point that by "anyone" I mean NPCs. oO
But still....no, nothing happens if you destroy Cargo containers (Although the person it belongs to might retaliate...).
I hear counter-measures are being brought in though, so cargo destroyers have their days numbered.
