Alrighty, I need to find some people and teach them that, unlike other games, if you talk **** in EVE, you'd better be prepared to back it up. In order to nail down their locations exactly, I need a locator agent, but the closest locator agent that I know of that I have access to is 30 jumps away. I'm certain there is one closer, but I don't know of any way to find locator agents without checking each agent individually.
Does anyone have a locator agent chart, or is there a way to find one in game via a search feature or something else?
Any help in finding these idiots so I can kill them repeatedly would be appreciated.

You need to locate a locator to locate their location, you mean?
Sheesh... there are layers of meaning there that I just don't have the braincells even to fathom...

well you need to grind missions, maybe. Anyway there are ppl that will do it for you for certain price. Don't forget that cost of running agent search at lvl4 agent can be up to 250k.

Unless I am mistaken (and I hope I am) locator agents are not working ATM.

You are indeed mistaken. They work fine now.
I use the agent search function in the eve-map tool (cant be arsed to find the download link). It doesnt tell you whether or not a particular agent has location services though, so you have to cross-reference ingame.

Just out of curiosity; what exactly do you need to use the locating function on a locating agent?
A certain amount of standing or is there a cost associated?
Never used one before so if someone would care to enlighten me?

You need both.
You need to have good standing with the corp the locator agent works for, and then you need to pay them to find the person.
The level of agent and quality will then determine how long it takes to find that person. |
